Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

We have 2 sibling 1.5 year-old puppies. When this 1st arrived, I tried putting kibble in the ball to make it more intriguing. 1st off, there is no way to take the ball apart, so I had to stuff the kibble in a couple at a time-- too time consuming! Then our dogs had difficulty getting the kibble to come out with rolling the ball. The one dog salivated so much into the ball, the kibble became a big gloppy mess-- very hard to get out! Never again will I put treats in this ball! With that said, the ball has a nice bounce to it and our 70-lb dogs can grip it well with their mouths. So, we like it for them to play around in the kitchen.
I received this item in what looked like it’s original packaging. However, when I went to fill the ball with treats I discovered black spots throughout the inside. I thought it was from shipping and moving around the box, so I soaked the ball in dish soap and hot water overnight to try to remove, but it did not work. I don’t feel comfortable giving this to my puppy with unknown material inside that could very well be mold of some kind so I have already thrown it out. I don’t even care about a refund. It’s not worth sending this back and risking it getting delivered to another pup!! Buyer beware!
My young beagle mix eats way too fast even with a slow eat bowl. Unfortunately at times, he eats so fast that he then throws it all back up. This dispenser ball is a life saver for us. We call it the dinner ball. We feed a portion of each meal in the slow feeder bowl and a portion in this dispenser ball. It slows the feed time which has eliminated the regurgitation that occurs without it. An added benefit is that it adds mental and physical exercise which has helped our young dog expend some of his crazy energy. He loves to push it with his nose and chase behind it and also bouncing it to release the food inside. You can see his mind working while he does it. You do have to use a kibble that is sturdy. No wet food. And a size that will fit. The “spokes” are adjustable with a little trim of the scissors. We only trimmed a little so the food doesn’t fall out too easily.
It has 4 little nubs on the inside of both holes, which is highly effective at making this pretty difficult to get treats out of. When they say "for small treats or kibble" they mean really small. I used kind of average size first and couldn't get them out myself:) So I started cutting out the lil nubs one at a time to try to customize the difficulty and I've chopped 2 off each end, which works well for our various treats/air fried food. I'm gonna get another one for outside to teach my dog fetch [she chases dogs who fetch but has no innate interest in the ball itself, any ball...all balls lol]. I'll leave all nubs on so I can stuff with goodies she'll be interested in fetching without them spilling during the throw. If I could do over I'd get the Large size for indoors and the medium size for outdoors so it fits in her mouth for fetch
I have owned two of these treat balls for many, many years. I recently re-purchased the same balls, and my dog gets a treat inside a ball every morning. She will spend a lot of time nudging the ball, licking into the ball, and enjoying success when she reaches a bit of the treats within. It is a great way for her to have some fun and for me to enjoy watching her! These last so long and work so well. I use pieces of “Real Meat” treats and she really goes for it!
Love that this ball is dishwasher safe (it’s also easy to wash by hand, unlike another treat-dispensing ball I got for my dog). I also love that it has little nubs at each hole that you can leave as-is or cut off to make larger holes, depending on the treats you use. This is the first time I’ve given my dog a treat-dispensing toy and he’s loving it! Very grateful for this simple but effectively-designed toy. :)
my dog LOVES this ball so much! i had gotten her a different kind of food dispensing toy but it was a bit too complicated so when i found this one i had a feeling she would enjoy it more. I would give it 5 stars but the only thing i didnt like was how small the openings are, which i know i can customize like it says on the packaging but i didnt want to give my dog more places the rip it from:') other than that i love it and so does she
I had been looking for a food dispenser that would hold my dog's entire meal (1.5 cups). She eats super fast, even with a divided bowl. She's super smart but doesn't like the puzzles that have hard plastic parts. She won't put them in her mouth. This is a durable but flexible rubber ball with adjustable openings to accommodate both large and small kibble. I just cut the little nubs out of one end to allow my larger kibble to fall out, but it only comes out one at a time. Not like the Kongs that the food just falls out of. My dog loves it and it takes her about 15-20 minutes to eat her meal.
Purchased in December and it's still his favorite toy 3 months later. He goes through toys very quickly. New bones weekly, new jumbo plushies monthly after many stitches. He loves to chew and play. The ball is solid. We use it for fetch and as a fun treat dispenser. It still smells nice, which is odd but it does. It is actually pretty easy to clean. I will say I removed two of the little pieces at the entrance. Each side has four where you put the treats in. I removed two to make it easier for him. He has learned how to keep the ball from rolling under the couch and bed. He will nudge it all over the house to get his treats out. Sometimes I just put his kibble or some Cheerios in it. He just loves it. It's a great toy to stimulate his mind and I'm impressed with how it's held up. No sign of breaking down yet.
I purchased two of these for my teething Puppies. Upon arrival the balls are coated in a weird film that does not wash off with soap and water. This has resulted in my puppies becoming sick with diarrhea after chewing on them.
