I purchased this for my IBD kitty who has lots of food intolerances. It works wonderfully for him and he absolutely loves it. I give him this along with his other safe foods (rabbit LID wet food, venison wet food, and Ziwi Peak air-dried venison). When I adopted him he was scrawny and suffering from chronic diarrhea from a diet of chicken/turkey, but since cutting out poultry and introducing these novel proteins (rabbit & venison) he's recovered 100% and is a very healthy boy. My other two kitties also love these morsels, so everybody is happy. Thank you Stella & Chewy's.
I was not sure if this would be well received as my cat seems to prefer the fast food cat options. However, she does like certain higher quality dry foods, and I have been breaking apart a piece of this every morning and every evening to add into her other food, and so far she has been eating all of it. The pieces are big, but easy to break apart with my fingers.
I have a guy who is really benefitting from raw food. I have used this in the past and while it's not his favorite he likes to have variety and this one is easy to feed dry, it crumbles very easily. But this last bag I bought was really smelly, and not in a good way. It actually smelled like it had already been eaten and passed through the GI tract, if you catch my drift. Not going to use this bag and I'm going to be afraid to try it again for a while
My cats absolutely love this stuff. I use as treats. All I need to say is who wants a bunny and they come running. They will even sit for it. When I toss a few on the floor they bat it around and chase it before eating, as if they were on a hunt. Must be the raw that brings that out in them. Haven'+ tried the sther flavars
Cats are such interesting animals. One day, they gobble up one kind of food. Then the next day, they turn their noses up and walk away from it. I'm on my 2nd bag of Stella & Chewy's Absolutely Rabbit and am continuing to have quite a bit of success. One cat eats it straight out of the bag with no hydration added. The other cat laps up the crunched hydrated version. Amazing. So far both cats are eating it. It is expensive, as are all dehydrated raw food, but neither one is walking away from it. Whooopeee!
I give 3 or 4 of these to each cat on top of their regular dinner food and they LOVE it! One of my cats likes to take a piece and carry it off under a piece of furniture and crouch down to eat it like prey, haha. They're BIG, but very airy and soft. I think she feels like she's shredding a piece of real meat. WINNER!!!
All our cats liked these right away. I crumble them up in a chopper first & store in a container. Then it's easier to put some in a bowl and add a little bit of lukewarm water. The morsels get moist right away and the cats like the broth. The food can also be crumbled dry and added as a topper. It's nice to be able to put out only as much food as they will eat at one time. Two of the cats are on restricted diets so this as been a great limited protein alternative to the prescription can food they did not like.
One of my kitties has allergies and raw food is the only thing that doesn’t make her toss her cookies. We found out about Stella and chewy and it has kept her allergies at bay BUT, jeez, these things are a gamble. I pray we get the soft morsels but mostly we get stale and hard ones. I’ve gotten almost every single protein from the freeze dried raw line and they’ve all had this problem but especially the rabbit and duck duck goose. Stella and Chewy please do better.
I purchased Absolutely Rabbit for our senior cat who tends to throw up and go through phases of not eating well. She RUNS to the food bowl when I open the bag. I wish it hydrated faster, because 2 minutes seems like an eternity for them to wait! This food is very expensive, so I am going to monitor how they do with subbing it for one meal only.
This has been an absolute life saver for my 8 month old kitten with IBD + suspected chicken protein allergies. I soak the morsels in a little bit of warm water and break it up for her and add some probiotic powers on top.
