All the Benefits of Raw Nutrition

All the Benefits of
Raw Nutrition

Give your stealthy carnivore all the meat she can dream of with Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Dinner Morsels. For pet parents that don't have time to prepare fresh raw foods or to wait for frozen food to thaw, freeze-dried is the best answer. These bite-size nuggets give kitties a feast of meat, organ and bones just like their wildcat ancestors. And to meet all of their nutritional needs, these recipes are formulated with added vitamins and minerals, probiotics and taurine.

The Prey Model Diet

It's only natural that your cat craves real meat—her body is designed to eat a diet that relies heavily on it. Stella & Chewy's makes it easy to feed your domesticated feline friend this prey model diet. Each recipe has 98% meat, nutrient-rich organs and bone, and there are no added hormones or antibiotics. All you have to do is rehydrate and serve. In just one minute, you'll have a wholesome, protein-rich dinner for your hungry tiger. As a bonus, she gets more water in her diet to keep her hydrated to support urinary tract health.

Raw Feeding Helps:

Pure and Simple Raw Nutrition

Minimal Processing,
Maximum Flavor

Heavy processing of ingredients can diminish the nutritional value. But with freeze-dried, the end product still retains its beneficial nutrients. Frozen raw nuggets go into a freeze-dryer to remove moisture without ever applying heat or letting them thaw. So they come out with all the flavor, vitamins, minerals, omegas and amino acids they went in with. Plus, you'll never have to keep it in the freezer or defrost it.

Safety Technology

Food safety is always a concern, especially with raw foods. Stella & Chewy's takes every precaution with their SecureByNature food safety process that's recognized by the USDA and FDA. The ingredients undergo a special, 100% natural cold-press process that creates water pressure similar to that found near the ocean's floor. No harmful bacteria can survive, and there's no heat to damage nutrients and diminish flavor. Each batch is tested by an independent lab, and the results are even posted online for you to see.

Ethically Sourced Ingredients

Stella & Chewy's sources everything that goes into your pet's food from reputable suppliers that guarantee the integrity of the ingredients. Meat, poultry and fish are responsibly sourced from all over the world. The wholesome fruit and vegetables are certified organic, and nothing comes from China.

About Stella & Chewy's

The story of Stella & Chewy's starts with two lucky rescue dogs named Stella and Chewy—and Chewy was a pretty sick pup. Their new pet parent, Marie Moody, started both of her new family members on a raw diet, and she watched them thrive. Eager to bring the same amazing prey model diet to other pets, Marie soon developed innovative food safety measures to create her own version of raw pet food—the Stella & Chewy's frozen and freeze-dried dinners and mixers that you know and love.

  • Picky cat gobbles it all up

    By on

My recently rescued cat has been the pickiest to feed. However, having had to put down two cats (prior to adopting her) due to illness despite their young ages, I've been very careful about what to feed her; I've been trying to only purchase food brands that do not test on animals, use no fillers or xantham gum, etc. She has absolutely loved this first bag of Stella & Chewy's and will now try to transition her to a fully raw diet. However, S&C is a great alternative. Wonderful product. Thank you, Chewy for carrying this brand. How about carrying other brands, too like Northwest Naturals? :-)

  • My picky eaters love it!

I chose this food to try because Orijen cat food is no longer available. I slowly mixed in the Stella and Chewy’s with what’s left of the Orijen cat food. To my surprise my cats picked around the Orijens crunchies to get at the Chick Chick. The Chick Chick pieces are very large, I don’t rehydrate them, so one of my cats will pull a piece out of the bowl and bat it around before he eats it. I’m bummed about the Orijens situation but I’m happy that I found another food that my cats like.

  • BEST for my cat's health

My cat has been sick since he was a kitten. I guess he has had food allergies all along. I moved to Turkey and when we got to Turkey, my cat became very ill. He was in the hospital and was giving fluids everyday with medicine and vitamins. They diagnosed him with FIP. (They somehow managed to save him with the same medicine that they give AIDS patients. I had to force feed him everyday. He pulled out of it, and they put him on a special diet. He did OK for awhile, until I moved back to the US. Again, he got very ill and was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. (I am pretty sure most US food has too many chemicals in it) I had to take him to the vet a lot since the last diagnosis, and everyday I had to force feed him. He threw up 3-4 times a day. He couldn't keep his food down. I had him on Royal Canin sensitive systems, hydrolyzed protein.. etc etc... nothing seemed to kick his sick spell. This continued for an additional 3 years, with thinking I was going to lose him any minute. I put him on a home made diet but apparently he doesn't like my cooking. FINALLY a nice Petsmart employee told me of Stella and Chewy's raw freeze dried cat food. First, I opened it, my cat attacked it. He LOVES the taste and was eating it before I could even put water in it. Four days later, he hasn't puked once. Which is a godsend. From four times a day to nothing. Oh what a relief! I was really tired of cleaning up puke. He is running around like a psycho again, playing, non-stop meowing and talking, climbing the walls, pooping normal again, very happy and not showing any signs of pain. I have to say, It has been three years since I have seen him this comfortable. I was so used to giving him motion sickness pills everyday only to watch him lick his lips and give that howling "I'm going to throw up" meow. I had paper plates all over the house, just to catch his puke (or try to). I learned to wake up at 3 am at that special howl he gives and race to grab a paper plate to catch his puke. To not have to do this... PRICELESS! Thank you SOOOO much for making this food. … more

  • Stella & Chewy's Grain-Free Freeze-Dried Cat Food

An excellent find. While chatting with a representative, this product was recommended for my cat that could not seem to "get full." This kitty has a Thyroid condition and always wanted something to eat. Although I provide free food, it wasn't enough. This product added to his dinner meal had made all the difference. He is now satisfied. Thank you Chewy!!

I was really excited to allow my cats to try raw food and really hoped both of my cats would like it, however only one liked it, and I'm not sure if its because she's getting older but she doesnt eat all of it only around half even if I give her only a few pieces, it's not because she doesn't like it. My other cat smells it and walks away, I tried several times just to make sure it wasn't because she just wasn't hungry, but every single time she just walked away from it or just ignored it. So I guess it depends on the cat. I actually thought both cats would like it and bought it because they seemed to be craving meat since everytime I ate meat they would want some but maybe I should try a different I was really excited to allow my cats to try raw food and really hoped both of my cats would like it, however only one liked it, and I'm not sure if its because she's getting older but she doesnt eat all of it only around half even if I give her only a few pieces, it's not because she doesn't like it. • Easy Solution for Raw

I'm still trying to fully convert my little kibble addict but I am so pleased with Stella & Chewy's! It's so easy to prepare and serve. I love how it can just be stored in the cabinet. Kitty isn't eating it entirely, but it's a start! The only downside is that it's a little pricey, but the high quality is sooo worth it!

  • Ended IBD Suffering for my Cat

My cat Zoey developed unrelenting diarrhea about 2 1/2 years ago and was diagnosed with IBD. I tried every brand and flavor of cat food including prescription foods - you name it, I tried it. She was also put on Budesonide steroid. Vet said that we would need to up steroids or move to Prednisilone as diarrhea was still not controlled and with this, there is the threat of cancer over longer term. As last effort my Vet suggested that I try Stella and Chewy Freeze Dried or start feeding her raw or home cooked diet. A miracle. It has been almost 4 months now and she loves her S+C and she is still "normal". With her next vet visit we will consider weaning her off steroids. She is occasionally a bit too firm and I add a smudge of her prescription food to each meal to dilute the bone content - this seems to work well. Both Zoey and I are so much happier now! … more

  • Da Vinci loves it!

Da Vinci loves this food. He recently started rejecting dry food and begging for only wet. Behavioral, not Medical issue. I use chick-chick dinner as an additive to Whole Earth Farms Salmon flavor. In the AM he gets dry food, and in the PM he gets a blend of the two. He is now a proud member of the clean plate club morning and night.
