Raw Nutrition

Give your stealthy carnivore all the meat she can dream of with Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Dinner Morsels. For pet parents that don't have time to prepare fresh raw foods or to wait for frozen food to thaw, freeze-dried is the best answer. These bite-size nuggets give kitties a feast of meat, organ and bones just like their wildcat ancestors. And to meet all of their nutritional needs, these recipes are formulated with added vitamins and minerals, probiotics and taurine.

The Prey Model Diet

It's only natural that your cat craves real meat—her body is designed to eat a diet that relies heavily on it. Stella & Chewy's makes it easy to feed your domesticated feline friend this prey model diet. Each recipe has 98% meat, nutrient-rich organs and bone, and there are no added hormones or antibiotics. All you have to do is rehydrate and serve. In just one minute, you'll have a wholesome, protein-rich dinner for your hungry tiger. As a bonus, she gets more water in her diet to keep her hydrated to support urinary tract health.

Raw Feeding Helps:

Pure and Simple Raw Nutrition

Minimal Processing,
Maximum Flavor

Heavy processing of ingredients can diminish the nutritional value. But with freeze-dried, the end product still retains its beneficial nutrients. Frozen raw nuggets go into a freeze-dryer to remove moisture without ever applying heat or letting them thaw. So they come out with all the flavor, vitamins, minerals, omegas and amino acids they went in with. Plus, you'll never have to keep it in the freezer or defrost it.

Safety Technology

Food safety is always a concern, especially with raw foods. Stella & Chewy's takes every precaution with their SecureByNature food safety process that's recognized by the USDA and FDA. The ingredients undergo a special, 100% natural cold-press process that creates water pressure similar to that found near the ocean's floor. No harmful bacteria can survive, and there's no heat to damage nutrients and diminish flavor. Each batch is tested by an independent lab, and the results are even posted online for you to see.

Ethically Sourced Ingredients

Stella & Chewy's sources everything that goes into your pet's food from reputable suppliers that guarantee the integrity of the ingredients. Meat, poultry and fish are responsibly sourced from all over the world. The wholesome fruit and vegetables are certified organic, and nothing comes from China.

About Stella & Chewy's

The story of Stella & Chewy's starts with two lucky rescue dogs named Stella and Chewy—and Chewy was a pretty sick pup. Their new pet parent, Marie Moody, started both of her new family members on a raw diet, and she watched them thrive. Eager to bring the same amazing prey model diet to other pets, Marie soon developed innovative food safety measures to create her own version of raw pet food—the Stella & Chewy's frozen and freeze-dried dinners and mixers that you know and love.

I was really excited to allow my cats to try raw food and really hoped both of my cats would like it, however only one liked it, and I'm not sure if its because she's getting older but she doesnt eat all of it only around half even if I give her only a few pieces, it's not because she doesn't like it. My other cat smells it and walks away, I tried several times just to make sure it wasn't because she just wasn't hungry, but every single time she just walked away from it or just ignored it. So I guess it depends on the cat. • Ended IBD Suffering for my Cat

    By on

My cat Zoey developed unrelenting diarrhea about 2 1/2 years ago and was diagnosed with IBD. I tried every brand and flavor of cat food including prescription foods - you name it, I tried it. She was also put on Budesonide steroid. Vet said that we would need to up steroids or move to Prednisilone as diarrhea was still not controlled and with this, there is the threat of cancer over longer term. As last effort my Vet suggested that I try Stella and Chewy Freeze Dried or start feeding her raw or home cooked diet. A miracle. It has been almost 4 months now and she loves her S+C and she is still "normal". With her next vet visit we will consider weaning her off steroids. She is occasionally a bit too firm and I add a smudge of her prescription food to each meal to dilute the bone content - this seems to work well. Both Zoey and I are so much happier now! … more

  • Da Vinci loves it!

    By on

Da Vinci loves this food. He recently started rejecting dry food and begging for only wet. Behavioral, not Medical issue. I use chick-chick dinner as an additive to Whole Earth Farms Salmon flavor. In the AM he gets dry food, and in the PM he gets a blend of the two. He is now a proud member of the clean plate club morning and night.

I am new to looking for a raw food option for my 5 yr old cat who has issues with occasional feline acne. I have tried to cut back on standard cat food to see if his allergy would clear up. I have resorted to preparing home cooked chopped skinless boneless chicken. This is a lot of work! Having found the freeze dried Stella & Chewy's chicken dinner is a big timesaver. It easily softens in several minutes after adding warm water in the serving bowl. My cat loves it and I am glad to know he is getting a natural nutritious preservative free product! • It was great until my cat decided to stop eating it

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I fully approve of this food. The ingredients are great and it can last quite awhile. My cat had eaten it as a kitten but I wasn't feeding him this food regularly. So I guess he got finicky and didn't want to eat this anymore. Sometimes I give him pieces on top of his dry food now just to use it up.

  • Cat won't eat it

    By on

Our adopted outdoor cat won't eat this, but the possums & raccoons do. I'm disappointed, one would think she'd be happy to have food regularly. (She was left at the house when the neighbors moved & couldn't catch her to take with them across the country.)

  • They couldn't get enough of this food

    By on

My finicky kitties LOVED this food. Unfortunately it's expensive and 3 oz bag was smaller than I imagined. But I've just ordered a 12 oz one because it's so healthy and easy to prepare. And I add extra water so kitties lap it up.

  • My Amethyst loves this stuff!

    By on Top 500 Contributor

Another fussy cat, my Amethyst has been eating only the freeze dried chicken they sell as treats for her "main" meals and then dry food. I decided to try this and she loves it. I think it might be healthier than just the plain freeze dried chicken. She won't eat it if you put water on it as suggested, but will eat it as it comes out of the package.

  • My 4 years old cat don't eat it

    By on

Before I barely give my tabby dry food, he only eats wet food. I recently got a puppy and tried this brand dog food, it was great. So I thought why not try some of their cat food. Sadly my cat doesn't like it, I tried to mix with his old food but he won't touch it at all. I also tried to mix with water too but still, he refused to eat. Maybe I should try the frozen one. This brand is still a good brand with quality pet food, just my cat doesn't eat dry food.
