    they liked it!! except one

Had trouble with first serving. Needed to mash it up with fork. Then, three of the five ate it. Then, changed flavor to duck and four ate it. Also, Stella and Chewy's was kind enough to talk with me on the phone to help me understand what I need to do to continue a good experience and all is well. Still Had trouble with first serving. Still having one cat who has problems with food, but will keep working on it. Chewy.com has been the absolute best in helping me make this transition to proper food for my cats, as I have been ill for years but this last six months we are all getting better. I recommend this product as they have small sizes you can try. Mash it with a fork if your cat(s) are resisting, and you can use the dry morsels crumbled as treats instead of the potato chip temptations some cats get hooked on. You will be amazed if you are transitioning from a cheap high carb food to high protein. You will see a change in their coat, eyes, and even their disposition gets better with less sleeping and more harmony among the little family. It is amazing. Great product and Chewy.com is the best. … more

    Sometimes yes, sometimes no

I have been using this product for quite a while now. One thing I have noticed is the discrepancies between production runs. S&C says they produce in small batches and the recipe never changes. However I often find differences among different batch numbers. I order 6 or more bags at a time and always I have been using this product for quite a while now. One thing I have noticed is the discrepancies between production runs. S&C says they produce in small batches and the recipe never changes. However I often find differences among different batch numbers. I order 6 or more bags at a time and always get bags with differing numbers. The problem I am finding is that occasionally the cats, and there are 5 of them only one of who is finicky, refuse to eat a bag or two because of the differences. There will be large inconsistencies in smell that even I can tell, texture, dryness, hardness making it almost impossible to crush the nuggets and oilyness making the nuggets feel very greasy. Makes me wonder if the batch was freeze dried sufficiently. I wonder each time I open a new bag if they will eat it or not. I have been doing research lately to find something new that is more consistent. Right now I am experimenting with Instinct. Steve, the finicky one refused it tonight. I have also been making my own raw. However grinding bone is a chore and I am concerned about not getting exact ingredient amounts, especially nutrients. So far chick chick is the one product they all agree on. I just wish S&C would get on the ball. … more

  • Good, healthy food.

However, my 16 year old cat prefers the chicken and salmon dinner. He devours that and it's good for him.

  • My 4 years old cat don't eat it

    By on

Before I barely give my tabby dry food, he only eats wet food. I recently got a puppy and tried this brand dog food, it was great. So I thought why not try some of their cat food. Sadly my cat doesn't like it, I tried to mix with his old food but he won't touch it at all. I also tried to mix with water too but still, he refused to eat. Maybe I should try the frozen one. This brand is still a good brand with quality pet food, just my cat doesn't eat dry food.

  • Jury is still out

At first my cat wouldn't even taste this, and she's a pretty adventurous eater for a cat. It has to be mixed with water and it looks disgusting. However, she went back later and ate some. So I'll try again with warm water. There are easier things to feed her, though, so unless she turns out to be nuts about this, I won't buy it again.

  • Mixed Feeling

    By on

Very convenient way to feed raw, especially when people in household are vegetarian. Kitties like it, but I've been finding lots and lots of small sharp bones and removing them. I know cat can digest bones, but they did disturb throat several times in the past. I am not sure if I buy them again or should try other freezed dry option.

  • It's okay

Not a favorite - cats much prefer the Duck, Duck, Goose. Texture is very dry. I like to crush the pieces before mixing with water because it mixes better/faster, but the Chicken flavor is very crumbly and dry - much harder to mix with water than either the Duck, Duck, Goose or the Tummy Ticklin Turkey. Cats were not overly impressed with it, so I won't be doing this one again. But good ingredients, not fishy (my guys hate fishy) and good product. If your cats like it, then it'll be a win.

  • Good snack

    By on

The cats like it as a dry snack/treat rather then a meal; they do not like it reconstituted. They prefer the turkey more than the chicken. Sometimes shred it on top of their regular wet food in order to get them to eat.

  • great product, its a shame its not organic, or GMO free

My cats love this, along with honest kitchen. Wish the stella & chewys range of ingredients were organic or GMO free though. Thats the only disappointment!

  • Looks Healthy But Cat Will Not Eat It

    By on

This product appears to be very healthy for cats; however, I could not rate it highly since my finicky cat would not eat it either reconstituted with water or dry.
