Finally, a food that she can digest.

I have a 16 year old cat that has suffered for digestive disorders for several years. She also stopped using the litterbox for #2 only, which was discouraging and frustrating. She also stopped using the litterbox for #2 only, which was discouraging and frustrating. Working with the vet, we had an inconclusive/possible dx of IBD, and we tried several prescription diets for 6-8 weeks each with no improvement. We tried limited ingredient diets, and and novel protein diets, and nothing improved. She fared poorly on steroids. As a last ditch effort, I switched her to S&C. She started improving within just few days, and I actually abandoned the gradual changeover and just switched her 100% to this food in less than a week. She loves it and it is the first time in years that her output is normal, and her behavior clearly indicates that she feels better. And she is using the litterbox 100%! I can't single out what there is in every other food that triggers her, but this works so I'm sticking with it. Yes it's expensive, but I promised her that I would give her the best life possible. I'll start switching over the other cats as their existing food supply (all the stuff the 16-year old can't eat) gets used up. … more

    They ate it at first.

Not saying this food is good or bad necessarily. Not sure how to rate this. Pretty sure it’s the healthier way to go and a good company. But if they don’t continue to eat it, I can’t afford to keep buying it. Pretty sure it’s the healthier way to go and a good company. But if they don’t continue to eat it, I can’t afford to keep buying it. Of course my two cats tried it and at first, per usual, because it’s something new and exciting they ate it well. But then I had to start adding more tempting foods to it just for them to even finish it. Then that no longer worked. So now I have a more than half of bag that is now considered “expired” that I’m afraid to even offer it to them. I read the directions and hoped it would be gobbled up each and every time but they just no longer wanted it. I guess I will simply go with my own route of fresh species appropriate food for a cat plus still buy what I know they will eat and finish. Even if the unhealthier stuff mixed in with a healthier food gets them to eat, then I will do that. Hopefully other kitties in the world will gobble this product up every time. I am glad I gave it a try, if you have more than one or two cats in your house, the bag will be used up in the amount of days it recommends. Its not even what I consider to be a big bag, just not going to work for my cats. … more
