Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2022
Stella & Chewy's Wild Red Kibble line is extruded. The raw coating, however, is added after the extrusion process, so it does remain raw.

Cool or warm water can be added to the kibble. Once the water is added, the food should sit out for no more than 2 hours. Anything left after that time should be discarded.

Little Kibble, Big Punch

I love that the 1 lb bag of this is available so my small dog could try it without committing to a giant bag. It was a hit! I even caught him saving some grains until the end of his meal, as if it was dessert. I'll definitely be buying more.

size of kibble smaller than cat food

I really like the ingredients in this food and my dog seems to like it (but then again she isn't a picky eater). However, the size of this kibble is way too small for a German shepherd sized dog. It's even smaller than the kibble we feed our cat. She just swallows it, no chewing. Wish they would offer options for small and larger dogs. Won't buy it again.

He eats it!!! Hurray!!!

My golden doodle, Jett, is THE most finicky eater ever!! I have went through so many different brands of expensive kibble only for him to eat for 2 or 3 days then leave it sitting. He loves this Stella and Chewy Wild Red Raw Coated Kibble!!! The only bad thing is it is staying out of stock. If chewy.com can continue to supply the 21 pound bag I will definitely continue to have it auto shipped!!

Approved by picky eaters

Stella and Chewy's Wild Red passed the taste test of extremely spoiled furkids! Tillie the Chihuahua and Phoebe the Yorkie, are both five pounds, and getting dry kibble small enough for them, can be problematic. They have always approved of Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw, so I decided to give this a try. Both my girls seem to like this, so I've found another dry kibble to add on to the rotation. They have four brands that I rotate week to week to keep their interest. Kibble is for the most part, just left down for them to snack on throughout the day. Their main menu consist of a wide variety of fresh raw, freeze dried raw, top quality canned and any fresh meat, vegetable, and fruit, that we have for dinner. They are five and six years old and have never needed to go to our veterinarian, other than for spay. I believe diet plays an important part in this. I definitely recommend this brand.

One of my dogs did NOT eat it

One of my dogs did NOT eat it. One dog will just about eat anything while my other pit enjoys filet mignon and lobsters of the dog food world. I’m giving this item a one star solely bc one of my dogs did not even touch it

So far so good

I am now feeding a mixture of dog food now. Every time I feed just one. I run into serious issues. Sooo with this one. I am mixing with 2 other dog food and it’s working out. She must get a build up of just on one kind and she will itch like crazy. With this mix she is doing so much better. Whew

Dogs love this

I have picky eaters but they seem to love all things Stella and Chewy. This is a nice option for those who want to stay away from peas, etc. I have one dog that was having trouble with a lot of foods so we tested . He is allergic to some grains. He does good on this and I don’t have to worry about the peas. I feed this in am and feed raw in the pm. So far everything is great. I really didn’t need to do a lengthy switch. The only issue is the size of the kibble. I have large dogs and I have to watch for choking. The kibble is small- like pea size. Please make a small breed if you are going to make it that small. For now, I put some Vital essentials freeze dried raw in with it as it is crunchy. This slows the problem child down a bit.
