When it comes to transitioning to any food, a slow transition over 7-10 days is recommended; it is the same case when transitioning to our food too. To start, we recommend mixing the new food in with what you're currently feeding and slowly building up until the new food is the sole food that you're feeding/that your dog is enjoying. Even if your dog isn't eating their current diet, it's important to start off small with new food and introduce it slowly, as sudden changes to diet can cause digestive issues.

is the Wild Red kibbles also oven baked? like other S&C's raw blend and raw coated kibbles?
Answer by • Jul 13, 2021
Stella & Chewy's Wild Red Kibble line is not baked, but instead extruded. The raw coating, however, is added after the extrusion process, so does remain raw.

Rehydration is not required but water or broth may be added if preferred.
I was happy with this food as was my retriever but my vet explained that grain free kibble has now been known to be responsible for heart ailments in dogs. Go figure, 10 years ago we were being told kibble WITH GRAIN was the only kibble to serve our dogs, will you please make up your mind.
I will note upon finishing a lengthy transition period of this food my retriever did develop diarrhea and loose stools and since I have changed to her new kibble from Ollie that isn’t an issue although I have started to add a couple of tablespoons to here food which may have also been the reason for her stools becoming firm.

Great food for great dogs
We learned that we can't feed our dogs grain free food so this is similar to the next best thing. They love this food and we are glad they are getting the grain that they need.
Note -- dogs needs some grains for heart health.

Great for puppies with small mouths
The kibbles are really small. I wish it came with a larger size kibble for the large breed puppies.

Horrid Digestion Problems
We have 2 Cavalier King Charles puppies. Started with the version of this food that contains grains and quickly regretted it. Switched to this and continued to have the same problems - even worse at times. Vomiting, uncontrollable bloody diarrhea, then obviously they suffered from lethargy because of this. We gave enough time to "adjust". We will never buy this brand again.

Stella & Chest’s is the best
I have 3 yorkies, all under 5lbs. Sensitive stomachs and picky eaters. They only eat Stella & Chewy with zero digestion issues. I mix this kibble with other Stella & chewy products. It’s not the cheapest food but it’s super healthy.

Made for picky nibblers
My doodle would not eat any kibble from 8 weeks on. She hated everything. We tried this out at 6 months out of desperation and she ate it like it was a steak! She loves this kibble! Its also very tiny kibble pieces which works well for her to chew & also feels more like little treats than kibble because she is on the smaller side. She still eats part raw food diet but this is the only kibble we feed her. I have it on autoship.

It gave me diarrhea
My human mixed my old food with this one to make it easier for me to get used to it. I love the taste but it gives me runny diarrhea. Good thing I learned to do that outside.

Dogs wouldn't eat it
Could not get our dogs to eat this
I don't think it was the food they just didn't have a liking to chicken

quality control needed...
I've ordered this same bag 3 times before and never had an issue, but this recent order seems to be all broken pieces? The kibble is typically a particular shape, but this entire bag was like shrapnel. It also seems like there is not raw coating on them. Not sure what happened here LOL My dog won't eat it, used to be his favorite.

My dog loved the food but it gave her horrible diarrhea.
