Do these treats have a strong smell? I’ve got a distracted and need something that is enticing than regular training treats in outdoor settings.
Answer by ChewyMar 27, 2019
These freeze-dried treats are made of 100% Pure Beef Liver and will smell accordingly.

Approximately how many treats are in each 2 oz container? We are getting two new boxer puppies and trying to gauge for positive training reenforcement! Thanks!
Answer by ChewyApr 16, 2018
The 2 oz. tub equals to about 8 ounces of real USDA Beef Liver. This product is packaged by weight, individual treat sizes and quantity may vary.

Does the treat need to be moistened with water prior to feeding?
Answer by ChewySep 21, 2017
These treats don't need to be re-hydrated as these diced reward size pieces are intended for intermittent or supplemental feedings, but can be re-hydrated if desired.

Do you need to handle these like raw meat, and wash hands after each treat.
Answer by ChewyAug 21, 2019
It is recommended to wash all work surfaces, utensils, hands and food bowls with hot, soapy water after handling freeze-dried meats and poultry. Keep freeze-dried meats and poultry separate from other foods.

Stewart Beef Liver Treats

WOW big container worth every penny!! 7 dogs here- old tiny and picky to the young Golden that will eat anything. Treats- wow but what has worked the best is placing the big hunks in a plastic bag and breaking it down as a topper their food!! Every dish is cleaned - recommended this 3 times on facebook with those that had picky dogs. Have another container on the way - just WOW

My Pup Loves It!

There are so many puppy treats out there and after a lil research I was confused-lol. So I asked my vet who promptly recommended freeze dried liver. Well I forgot to ask for a brand and did a lil more research. These treats received great ratings from doggy parents and experts as well! My puppy loves them. No change with his stool and it does not require refrigeration. Been a month or so and so far so good!

Very disappointed

I order these every 3 months or so and use them as a night time treat for My dog. This time they smelled funny when I opened the tub and all the pieces were tiny, they all looked like shavings from the floor! I know people use these as training treats but the pieces were so small i was having to give them a handful. I don’t know what went wong but I am rally disappointed.

Best training treats

Working in hard commands such as "recall" or "come" you need a really tasty treat that you only use for those commands. Well these are very yummy according to my dogs, and being freeze-dried, they stay fresh longer than using real meat, and it only took my dog 3 days to learn the command because she loved these treats. I would HIGHLY recommend them to any serious trainers or behaviorists!

Dog Treats

My dog absolutely LOVES THESE TREATS! Best treats I've gotten him so far, and I love the Bucket idea that they come in... just wish they were cut with more of a uniform size and shape, but other than that, he loves them...

Amazing Product

We had a house fire and my two Shelties and I spent 46 days in a hotel. Rudy was so traumatized that he wouldn’t eat. A friend gave me this product, told me to grind it up and sprinkle on his food. Of course, I had to do the same for Addie. Rudy immediately gobbled up his food. Who knew that beef liver could turn things around so quickly! I was and am still grateful for having found this product!

Great for finicky eaters

My 2 y.o. mixed breed is a very finicky eater. They are by far her favorite treat and I use them as a "high value" training reward. I also pulverize then in a food processor to make an enticing meal topper. I appreciate they are single ingredient treats with no corn, starch, grain or artificial fillers. There are less expensive treats but to my girl and me, they are more than worth the price.

Great treats overall

Our dogs love any freeze-dried liver treats, these included. The pieces in this bin are generally large (I actually cut some of them up). Our little dog, an 11-pound Havanese, finds these too rich and throws them up if she eats more than a couple (thus 4 stars). Our 40-pound collie puppy has no problems with them and wishes we would only give her these, for treats and for breakfast, lunch, and supper (lol)!

Great training treat!

We use these (and the lamb liver version) as a higher value treat for training. They are hard to break apart if you don't use scissors, so I recommend chopping them up. They're a little smelly but she'll work for these when she's decided her regular treats aren't worth it anymore.
