Description

"Notice: Please keep all paws and claws away from the sides of the sofa." Until cats learn to read, pet parents will have a lot better luck using Sticky Paws XL Strips than a nicely-worded warning. Sticky Paws are a medical-grade adhesive strip with a texture cats just don't like to touch. The XL strips are perfect for covering large areas like furniture and rugs.

Key Benefits
  • Transparent adhesive training aids that can be used virtually anywhere without leaving sticky residue
  • Ideal for any large area that has become the focus of your cat's unwanted attention, discourages cats from clawing and pawing
  • Over-sized adhesive sheets are easy to apply and remove from areas like sofa backs, rugs and carpets
  • Extra Large Sheets are especially effective to help deter inappropriate elimination on carpet area
  • Five 9" x 12" strips per pack
Precautions

Sticky Paws may damage certain surfaces (including, without limitation, wood finishes, painted surfaces, leather, vinyl, microfiber and wallpaper), so always test a small piece of Sticky Paws on an inconspicuous area before applying. Sticky Paws is ineffective on surfaces treated with non-stick and/or stain-repellent products. HAZARDS TO HUMANS: Sticky Paws is not intended for animal or human consumption. If ingestion occurs, seek immediate medical attention.

Instructions
  • Use on over-sized areas like the backs of sofas, rugs and carpets. Sticky Paws XL is especially effective to help control inappropriate elimination on carpet areas.

  • Always test a small piece of Sticky Paws on an inconspicuous area before applying.

  • Remove individual white Sticky Paws XL sheet from brown base sheet by gently peeling from the top down. Sticky side of sheet is now exposed underneath with white application "Crack and Peel" paper on top.

  • Position sheet sticky-side down wherever it is needed. Press firmly from top to bottom until sheet has adhered to desired surface.

  • When sheet is in place, gently crack and peel the remaining layer of white paper off sheet. Your transparent Sticky Paws sheet will now stay in position depending on the type of surface and position on the sheets. To remove, simply peel off by hand or gently apply a damp cloth to steam.

  • Replace weekly.

Furniture Destruction Alternative that actually Works

    By on

OK. I love my cats. It's the usual love story - we rescued them, they rescued us. Momma Calypso was called in by some junk yard owner that said there was a cat beating up on his dogs. Rescue teams discovered it was because she had a litter of babies. She and her babies were rescued, and once adoption was on the docket, we became her humans, as well as her runt of the litter, Baby Hana-Blurr-Kitty-Hammy-Hamburglar-Battle-Cat. Did I mention they are Torties? Anyhow, despite the great love and satisfaction, they are cats. And they have all their claws. No declawing, just ask the Cat Rapper. Anyhow, cats with claws need to relieve the tension in their paws and stretch things out, which means OK. I love my cats. It's the usual love story - we rescued them, they rescued us. Anyhow, cats with claws need to relieve the tension in their paws and stretch things out, which means your nice furniture gets the brunt of it. We've tried fabric covering, we've tried physically blocking the areas they like, and it's not like they don't have a gazillion scratching post/kong scratcher (highly recommend) and other options. But they are cats. I decided to try Sticky Paws as a last resort, and holy cow, they actually work. They are easy to apply (reading the directions is the key), and immediately addressed the issue. I bought the XL size pack, and they aren't terribly expensive all things considered. I'm about to buy another two packs, because there's more surfaces that need to be protected. It's a matte finish so you really don't notice the protection on the furniture surfaces unless you're looking for it. I'd say this is a great part of a multi-faceted approach - provide plenty of appropriate scratching surfaces for the cats and protect those pieces of furniture you don't want shredded up. … more

    Not super effective

    By on

I didn’t have any issues getting the backing off these like others have reported. But, I was hoping they would stop my kitty from walking on the counters. She doesn’t care at all—just walks right over them because there isn’t very much “stick” on them.

Score: Cat 1 & Useless sticky things 0. Doesn't stick to fabrics

    By on

I had high hopes but basically this product doesn't stick to fabric (my cat loves my sofa as a scratching post), easily falls off simply due to gravity. I even tried putting on overlapping sheets to anchor but nothing worked. With the first scratch, the stuff comes off, giving my cat an empowering sense of accomplishment which seems to have emboldened her to scratch even more.

    Worst product ever

    By on

I ruined 3 out of 5 of the sheets just trying to follow the directions. My cat was able to just pull off the one part that I was able to stick on the chair. Very disappointed in Chewy for the first time.

    Waste of money!

    By on

What a waste of money! Doesn’t stick to the furniture - and the pieces that DO stick, immediately come off when trying to pull the white backing off. Don’t waste your money like I did!

    Worthless!

    By on

I spent over an hour trying to remove the backing. I tried my fingernails, a tweezers, a razor and scissor blade, but the backing would not separate from the sheet! The instructions said you could use steam to remove them, so I even tried that, but nothing...I finally called Chewy and they graciously refunded my money. They went in the trash.

    Terrible product

    By on

Do not waste your money! These would barely come off of the paper backing, and the moment they did they'd crumble up, distort, or refuse to stick to furniture. I got ONE in the package to actually work and stick to an upholstered bench my cat was scratching and all it took was her to stick her paw to it once and pull it off and crumble it up. Huge waste of money!

    Just flush your money

    By on

This is the most worthless waste of money I have spent in a long time. Cats love it so if they hadn’t found your couch yet this will certainly do the trick. My 3 cats had the best time with this. Now they know they can chew on the couch as well as scratch it. Just flush your money.

    Works Great!!

    By on

Our cat would put his claws in our boxspring and pull it to snap which would wake us up. We'd have to lock him out of the room and then he'd start hollering. We bought 5 packs of the sticky claws and it solved our issue. Wish I had found this solution years ago.

    Used for dogs as well

    By on

I have a Chihuahua who chooses sometimes to pee under table! I put several Sticky Paws down. Once one of Sticky Paws got ‘stuck’ on her leg & tail ( which was a funny sight) she hasn’t been under the table since!!!! I will leave Sticky Paws down for several weeks to, hopefully, insure that habit is broken!!!
