I bought this when the brand the vet gave me was almost gone. It had good reviews and honestly didn’t think there would be a difference from what the vet supplied me with. Boy was I wrong. I typically mix it in with their wet food they eat in the morning and right before bedtime. Couldn’t figure out why they suddenly stopped eating their wet food until the other night I accidentally forgot to add it to their food and they ate their entire bowl. Then it clicked. I’m disappointed because my little girl eats about anything so I find it strange. It also smells tasty so not sure what it is about it they don’t like. Thankfully after digging deeper into Chewy I did find that Chewy does sell the brand the vet gave me so I will be ordering it. Just wished I’d realized it before buying this one.
It helps my Cat and he loves the flavor. Recommend by my veterinarian
When I adopted my kittens last October, I was told one was recovering from a cold. two months later, he was still sneezing all the time. The vet told me it was something he would have all his life and it would probably flare up from time to time--but I had never seen it flare down! After desperate googling, I came across L-Lysine, but my picky kitten didn't want the treats from other brands (they just sit on the floor...), and I didn't want to feed him something with a bunch of junk in it anyway when all I wanted was the L-Lysine. This was the holy grail! I mix it into my cats' wet food daily. He hasn't sneezed in months. I was a little panicked when Chewy went out of stock on this just as I ran out--so happy that it's back in!
I have 8 cats that I feed a mix of wet and dry food in the morning and I mix it the main bowl. I also mix some in the main food bowls around the house. Half of them have upper respiratory issues. Since using this it has helped very much.
This stuff helped my cat get over her viral infection quickly. I started giving it to her in March and in 4 weeks her breathing was almost silent. She's been healthy since. When will this product be back in stock!?? Please bring it back soon so there's interruption in my cat's immune support.
This is the fourth L-Lysine product I've bought and the first my cat will eat. In fact, the other 2 cats without eye issues would also not eat the 2 chewables and 1 gel-type products previously bought. This powder is very easy to mix in his food unlike trying to crumble and disguise the chewables into his food. Still waiting to see if there's any improvement in his eyes.
Our 17-year old cat has benefited from another L-Lysine supplement for several years. However, the "chewable" treat style I was giving her comes, more often than not lately, very hard and dry so she refuses to eat it. In studying the product information more thoroughly, I found that some components of the "natural" product we were using are from China - which is exactly what we were told by our vets to avoid when she began having health problems seven years ago. This was recommended by a Chewy vet as being completely sourced and made in USA... so far, so good.
Recently took in a stray cat that is FIV immune compromised. He’s had a respiratory infection with watering eyes and sneezing. After about a week on this supplement he’s getting better and not sneezing anymore. Thrilled this is helping him! Highly recommend for anyone with an FIV feline.
I started using this in my female cats food. It has made such a difference with her. She is more active and eats much better. She is picky about her food. And adding this to her food she doesn't notice it.
Vet wanted me to get my rescue Snowshoe on Lysine for her respiratory issues. Unfortunately, the treat type I picked up from the vet did not go over well. This cat does not like cat treats, so I was stuck breaking them into tiny pieces and hiding them in her food, two in the morning and two at night. This powdered form was exactly what I needed. Instead of having to try and trick the cat into eating four giant treats a day - one scoop of this in her morning cat food and it went down with no problem. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
