Description

Allow your cat to heal in comfort and dignity with the Suitical Recovery Suit for Cats. A cat-preferred alternative to the dreaded cone of shame, this new approach comes with a host of perks. While traditional cones restrict normal movement and distract their sense of direction, the recovery suit solves all these problems and then some. Acting as a second skin, it allows your cat to go about his normal routine—all the while keeping the wound clean, dry and protected. All this equals less stress, a faster recovery and a happier pet. Just ask yourself, would you want to wear a cone?

Key Benefits

  • Comfortable, stress-reducing alternative to the traditional cone is recommended by vets.
  • Snug fit with rear fastening prevents the pet from wiggling out, and allows for normal litter box use.
  • Covered areas are kept clean and dry, which prevents bacteria and dirt from causing an infection.
  • Made from a non-toxic, breathable, 4-way stretch fabric that is machine washable for reuse.
  • Allows air to circulate around the wound for healing, with built-in pockets for gauze pads.

Instructions

With cats, the head must be inserted first into the shirt followed by each front leg (separately) into the openings provided. The Suit should then be pulled back as far as possible over your pet’s body. The two straps on the belly side are secured by threading them between the rear legs and then connecting the snaps to the upper section near the base of the tail. Make sure that there is enough room for tail movement.

It is comfortable, hygienic and can be washed at 30º Celsius. Therefore it can be re-used.

  • Perfect Solution!

We took our female kitty to be spayed recently. When we picked her up the same day, she was wearing a plastic cone which we were instructed to keep on her for two weeks! This was awful! She couldn't eat easily or move around the house, and our other cats were terrified of her! We immediately started searching the Internet and found this! It arrived in two days, and it was absolutely perfect! Our kitty is six pounds and the XXSmall fit perfectly. She got used to it quickly and it did not interfere with her using the litter box. I'm a little angry that our vet didn't suggest this as an alternative to the cone in the first place. I'm a little angry that our vet didn't suggest this as an alternative to the cone in the first place. Since we've only ever had male cats who are easily neutered, it's a little more complicated for females. Spaying females leaves them with a three inch incision. This area must be protected from the cat gnawing at the stitches. This suit completely protected that sensitive area, and it's easy to unsnap and apply ointment when needed. Anyway, it's a great product! We were very happy. That cone went right into the trash can! … more

  • Perfect solution

My cat has Cushing's disease which results in very fragile skin that tears easily. Because cats groom themselves, this ordinary process was causing lesions to his skin, one of which required sutures. He was miserable in the inflatable collar (which was still an improvement over "the cone") so I was happy to find this suit. I ordered the largest size and the neck opening stretched enough that I could get it over his head rather easily. The one suggestion I would make would be to have something that covered his front legs. I amended the situation by purchasing long-sleeved baby t-shirts to protect his legs so he has a layered look now :-)

  • Cat Kept Getting It Off

    By on

It fit perfectly, but with enough give for my kitty to move. Sadly, she kept getting out of it within a few hours every time. We don't know how she did it. She'd appear without it on and we'd find it on the floor somewhere snaps still snapped. It did appear to help her wound heal from when she did have it on and she moved easily with it on. Sadly, I appear to have a kitty Houdini so this didn't work perfectly for her. If your cat isn't as clever, this should work great.

  • Freedom from the "cone of shame"!

    By on

My cat got seriously injured and was going to have to wear the "cone of shame" for a couple of months. This suit was a fantastic purchase. It gives him the freedom to eat, drink and use the litter box and still keeps him from his wound. I would recommend this suit to anyone and everyone. Chewy has the lowest price we've found and they deliver too!!

  • Great REplacement for the Cone of Shame!

    By on

Our young female cat underwent her surgery for spaying recently and was wearing the Cone of Shame. It was so uncomfortable for her I asked my breeder about an alternative. She suggested the Suitical. I bought one and our cat immediately had a wonderful change. She was able to eat, sleep and walk- although she did look like a baby with a full diaper! The Suitical protected her incision and she had now fully recovered. One word of caution: Measure carefully! I didn't and the Suitical I bought was still too big for our baby even though we did use it. They are larger than you think but they do the job!

  • Cute Suit and Great Idea, But Didn't Work with my Cat

    By on

It is very nicely made and the size seems to be correct, but The Dude wouldn't go to the bathroom while wearing it, although there was room for him to do so. Holding his poop, when in a carrier or whatever, always causes him to get diarrhea, and when I took the suit off, he went directly to the litter. After that he was fine, so I'm certain the suit was the problem. I didn't have the heart to put it back on him, and have not solved the problem of his licking his allergy sore yet. He also has a blue blow up collar that he keeps pulling off and hiding. We'll probably have to get the usual cone.

  • Thank goodness for this !

I can not say how thankful I am that I found this recovery suit on chewy.com . My 6month old kitten is only 4lbs and the xsm fit her perfectly. She is a bundle of bouncing energy and after surgery to be spayed she still was bouncing around like crazy. This suit not only allowed her to move around safely but w gauze in the inner pouch protected her from bumps n falls. Her stitches remain clean and safe, she feels snug which helped her fall asleep as well. She could easily eat and drink when she was ready and using the litter box was no issue and kept her stitches clean as well. Never would I ever use a cone for recovery again.

  • Purrfect alternative to the Cone of Shame

My 6 month Siamese would not keep the cone on after her spay surgery and she continued to play with her sutures. The suitical kept her stitches intact and gave me peace of mind. Chewy delivery was prompt and worry free.

  • Works perfectly

    By on

My baby had a cut on his side and we needed to prevent him from licking. The cone and tube just didn't work for us and the sweater the vet gave us the cat would just pull off when we weren't looking. This suit doesn't seem to bother him at all. He wears it all days and night. He is able to pee and poop with it on with no trouble.

  • Best thing ever invented in human history

My Tigger had a freak accident and is sporting a 7" gash on his abdomen that was stitched up on Thursday. He was utterly miserable for 5 days with the cone. The Suitical arrived this morning and the change was instant and dramatic. He can lick important spots but cannot reach the stitches. He's not doing the "Kitty Flop" and can walk and eat and, most importantly, curl up in a ball to sleep which he couldn't do with the cone. I can't recommend the Suitical enough. Thank you Chewy and Suitcal!
