A dog-preferred alternative to the dreaded cone of shame, this new approach comes with a host of perks. While traditional cones restrict normal movement and distract their sense of direction, the recovery suit solves all these problems and then some. Acting as a second skin, it allows your dog to go about his normal routine—all the while keeping the wound clean, dry and protected. All this equals less stress, a faster recovery and a happier pet. Just ask yourself, would you want to wear a cone?

Small Dogs: With small dogs, the head must be inserted first into the shirt followed by each front leg (separately) into the openings provided. The suit should then be pulled back as far as possible over your pet’s body. The two straps on the belly side are secured by threading them between the rear legs and then connecting the snaps to the upper section near the base of the tail. Make sure that there is enough room for tail movement.
Large Dogs: With large dogs (long legs) it is easier to insert one front leg followed by the head and then the other leg into the provided openings. The suit should then be pulled back as far as possible over your pet’s body. The two straps on the belly side are secured by threading them between the rear legs and then connecting the snaps to the upper section near the base of the tail. Make sure that there is enough room for tail movement.
It is comfortable, hygienic and can be washed at 30º Celsius. Do not place items in the dryer, must be air dryed.

Our little Chihuahua mix just got neutered, and our vet told us that the cone of shame tends to be overkill for dogs who don’t really try to lick or pick at the incision, which he does not. Still, we felt anxious about letting him out of our sight, even in the other room, given that he could open his stitches in a matter of seconds if he lost his chill. We tried an imitator of this suit and were not impressed, because it didn’t even cover the incision. This one is a godsend. He doesn’t care that it’s on, but we are confident that it will prevent him from licking or picking, at least without tremendous effort and noise that would alert us anyway. It’s secure and completely covers the incision, yet is easy enough to unbuckle at the back and flip up for easy potty breaks. I think if we had to leave him home alone for hours, I would probably put the cone on him in addition to the suit for added peace of mind, and if your dog is really interested in their incision this might not work out. But for our everyday use during his recovery, this is worth every penny.
I got an xxl for my 120 lb great pyr (don’t mind the fur on his hand legs I haven’t brushed him there for a week because he’s healing and sensitive). I had tried the cone of shame and he didn’t feel comfortable walking and somehow kept taking it off and then licking his wound. Needless to say he’s now on antibiotics. Yesterday this suit came in and he let me put it on him and felt comfortable. I took it off this morning to wash it as he had drained a bit in the area that collects fluid (see package details). I only wish I had gotten two so he could have one to wear while I washed the other. Great product and easy to put on! Also you don’t need to take the whole suite off for them to go to the bathroom which is nice.
