Is the reviewer correct that this gate doesn't actually come with a pressure mounting option?
Answer by ChewyJun 27, 2021
This gate includes a pressure mount kit for easy installation.

Is it possible to get an extra extension so that the gate would fit an 61 inch wide hallway?
Answer by ChewyJun 21, 2021
At this time, extension panels are not available for this gate.

Can you tell me how wide the door is for the gate?
Answer by ChewyJun 04, 2021
The Extra Tall & Wide Safety Gate doorway opening is 20 inches wide.

What is the widest distance between the rails? (It appears the largest space is where the gate opens on hinge side) This would be used for my adult male iguanas. Need to make sure they cannot squeeze through.
Answer by ChewySep 01, 2021
The slats vary from 2 5/8 to 1 3/4 inches.

Thanks For Everything

I appreciate a company who will let their customers know when a product is back in stock. We had been looking for a gate tall enough to keep ONE dog from jumping over into the kitchen. This works perfectly. We appreciate Chewy so much.

I do not recommend this gate

I would not recommend this gate. The price is to way too expensive for what I received. The frame of the gate is okay, not the best. The worst part is the locking device on the gate. It is made of plastic. The tip for holding the gate in place to lock is maybe 1/4" with a pin that moves in and out freely . All that is keeping the gate closed is this plastic pin that is on top of the locking device. I have the two rails for this gate flush with each other and my dog can jump on the gate from the other side and unlock it. For the amount of money this gate cost the manufacturer could have developed a better lock device. The bottom pin doesn't even keep the bottom portion of the gate secure either. I would not recommend this gate to anybody. I would also like to know if this gate was developed for large dogs why does the instructions for putting this together refers to children. This gate would not be safe for children either??? Lesson learned will never purchase anything from "Summer" again. This is terrible.

exactly what I wanted

I foster dogs a few times a year and wanted a primarily tension mounted sturdy gate that I could put up and take down. It's well made, fits a weird space in my fairly open layout and was not difficult to assemble.

Doggie gate

I am so thankful For this dog gate!! It is perfect for the top of the stairs and nice and sturdy as well as nice looking. I am a 78 year old senior and was able to install it by myself. I used the pressure screws instead of making holes in the wall and it is very sturdy and tight. Love it!

Worth the money

Attractive sturdy gate. Not difficult to put up. Can be screwed to the wall or just mounted with tension. Screwed to the wall it's not going anywhere. The only thing to be aware of is that the gate is difficult to open- have to have some strength to pull it up and then push it away from you but that may ease up after use. We mounted it 5 inches from the floor to give it extra height otherwise one of my dogs can jump over it. We also mounted with screws. A bit pricey but worth it.

Love this gate

The height and width of this gate was exactly what we needed. It was easy and fast to install, and very sturdy as our puppy jumps at it when he is confined to his pen. We are very happy with this purchase.

Locking mechanism is not right

I thought this gate would be great, it's extra tall and extra wide and looks halfway decent as well. But the locking part is horrible, it can be pushed open way too easily. I would not recommend this gate.

Not pressure-mounted

Looks nice and solid, but returning because I don’t want to drill holes into my walls. The description says “pressure mounted,” but then the instructions say you must install small plates on the wall to secure the gate. It doesn’t actually have any spring function, so I’m not sure where the “pressure” would come from.
