Acts as a supplement for your underwater buddy’s diet and can also be nibbled on. Forms makeshift shelters for fishes to sleep under and are great nests for eggs to latch onto.
Ideal for soft water or blackwater fish such as Bettas, Corys, Plecos and all species of shrimp. Catappa leaves release tannins into the water, which are good for the health of aquatics.
Tannins deliver antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, and algaecidal properties, which can help prevent and treat existing infections and parasites in an aquarium, such as Fin Rot, Pop-Eye, and even Ich or Velvet and more.
Tropical fish use a floating leaf or a plant to anchor their bubbles, creating bubble nests. Simply add these leaves and watch your breeding tetra, guppy, platies, molly, cichlids or shrimp anchor their eggs!
Wow! I heard all the hype about these but didn’t realize just HOW MUCH shrimp love them. I have a new little 5.5 gallon shrimp tank setup and I really want my shrimp colony to survive and do well so I thought I’d get some of these after hearing how great they are for shrimp. My shrimp went from acting sort of listless and inactive to being super happy little shrimp within hours of sticking one of these bad boys in there! And they’ve been busy grazing all over the place and generally just doing their happy little shrimp thing ever since. So glad I got these!

I bought these for my betta and let me tell you BEST. INVESTMENT. EVER. Tinted the water within 24 hours! I’ve noticed it has also helped with my bettas fin rot!( I’ve been treating it for 2 weeks before receiving this product). Great product definitely recommend!
Not good for tannins

I don’t know why but these are not good, they are not producing tannins despite my expertise in creating IAL tea for my bettas I’ve boiled the water and let them sit overnight and yet the water is only slightly colored

this was a terrific addition to the betta tank, so glad we were able to get it thru Chewy

These leaves are much bigger than those you see in the stores. Arrived in great condition. My bettas love them
Seems to work alright

I honestly haven't really noticed much of a difference. Then again I'm used to having almost tea-colored water. I'll probably just need to add a whole leaf to each tank for that look. All in all still a nice product.
great value and amazing quality

I got these for my Betta who is recovering from a lot of things I had no idea about (long story). He’s in a five gallon tank by himself, heated with a filter. I cut one leaf in half and rinsed it in warm water. Let it dry and then submerged it in his tank, I stuck part of it under his skull hideout. During the first week of it being in there I learned that you need to have a non-carbon filter because the carbon takes most of the tannins out of the water...geez!! So I went on a hunt for a new filter. Make sure you guys pay attention to the the PH levels also. They can tend to drop with IAL in there. My water did turn slightly darker.
Looks nice and Diego likes it

I got these to keep my tank natural for my betta Diego. He seem to like it. Took 3 days to sink and didn’t really turn my water brown like everyone was saying but did turn it a lil cloudy. I put one leaf in a 3.5 gallon tank. And plan on switching them out once every couple weeks. Although I don’t see why you can’t leave it in there longer. The only reason why it didn’t get 5 stars was because it don’t state how to store the leaves til you use them.
