How long is this solar panel expected to function properly?

It is recommended you use the solar mode during the day. Press the “solar on/off” button, the green indicator light of solar power is on or off; The pump will only run in bright or good sublight conditions. On bright sunny days surplus power will charge the battery. It is recommended you use battery power mode (4AA rechargable batteries) at night or on a cloudy day. When the system is on, press the “Battery on/off“ button, the red indicator light of the battery power is on; On bright sunny days the battery will fully charge and the pump will run for up to 4 hours. On cloudy days the pump will run for significantly less time. The mode will switch to “solar power” automatically when 4 hours is ending.

The fountain has a “solar on/off” button and a “battery on/off“ button, so you may decide which mode is appropriate for use at that time.
