Do I need to clean the tetra pond UV filter It doesn't seem to be working as well.
Answer by ChewyJun 25, 2018
When cleaning a this filter, it is important to NOT over-clean. It is only necessary to remove the debris that is restricting flow.

Does this go on a filter system out of the water, or does the whole system go in the water from a pump to a fountain output ????
Answer by ChewyApr 06, 2018
This filter is intended to be used outside of the water. Please do not use this product in the water.

A fair UV for an aquarium

I installed the UV clarifier inline from a canister filter for my 55 gallon aquarium. The aquarium was cloudy from a bacterial bloom that was harmless to the fish but I wanted it cleared. It took the unit 3 - 4 days to clear the water. That's not bad but there are better units out there that would've done it in only hours. This UV lamp is obviously not strong enough to kill parasites, but can be used to keep the water clear.
