Works great, ESPECIALLY for the money! GREAT value!!
I bought for a 55 gallong planted tank. I was really worried after all the reviews, but I needed a filter. The instructions weren't great, but I have other canister filters so could figure it out. The UV light was a little scary. At first I didn't push it in far enough and it wasn't working. I had to really push it in - wiggle it a little helps. I was worried I was going to break the bulb, but it snapped in finally. NOTE: You MUST put the UV light in the correct corner for it to work. In the bottom of the bucket it tells you which corner. There is a magnet in the top corner that must align with the lid or it won't work. Overall, it is quiet and runs great. I'm happy with it. It does seem a little flimsy but it gets the job done.
Once you get it primed, it picked up and ran fine.
I have had this filter for a year now and it has done its job well! I almost ruined it installing the light incorrectly! Don't be shy about pushing and screwing that cover on. I didn't have it fully pushed in and water started leaking into the light enclosure... Filter obviously shorted out. After taking it apart and drying everything out that we could it started right back up and has been working no problem ever since!
Absolutely a waste of money, Pretty badd when my 20 gallon filter works 10 times better than the 75 gallon filter. Constantly leaks, Took 4 hours before water star flowing through the filter. 1st time using it the primer but and seized up, Had to completely disassemble it to unsieze primer button.
The UV Light never worked from the Git Go, magnets are aligned, even replaced the UV bulb... Never got any response...
Like a few others, when I received mine the light on the inside didn't work. I have confirmed on multiple occasions that I am using it correctly, but the light still refuses to come on. The filter itself works just fine, and with the addition of a working light would probably be very highly rated by me, but as it stands the only reason why I haven't returned it is that I'm desperate enough for a working filter that I cannot.
It's a horrible pump! Works great until you clean it the first time. It leaks horribly! I've tried all the tricks on trouble shooting videos and nothing works.
So far so good with my filter system. If I had any complaints it would be that better directions be sent for the set up and proper placement of trays.
Within an hour I saw a very dramatic change in my water clarity and the fish love the flow from the output bar! The UV light greatly improved water quality also! Large trays for all the media I need and very quiet!
