Active Ingredients: Perna Canaliculus (Green-Lipped Mussel).
Suggested Use: 1 Scoop for each 25lb of body weight 1 X per day.
Double the dose for the first 10 days as a “loading phase” to increase initial absorption. Green Lipped Mussel Powder may take one to four weeks to become evident.
Joint Power Green Lipped Mussel works as an extremely effective anti - inflammatory through the processes of the incredible natural package of Omega 3 Fatty Acids it naturally contains.
This is rare and harmless, but fatty acids can initially cause loose stools in some dogs. If this does happen, just back off the dosage a little and slow down the implementation.
Most commercial pet foods include baseline vitamins and nutrients, but some may not have the adequate amount to suit your pet's exact health needs. Like in humans, vitamins and supplements can help support your pet's long-term health, regulating everything from digestion to muscle growth. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best vitamins and supplements for your furry friend.
It is recommended to give the suggested dosage based off your pet's weight. Please refer to the Feeding Instructions tab and consult with your veterinarian for more information.

This has caused explosive diarrhea all over the house numerous times now. I really wanted to implement a good hip/joint supplement into my babies live’s but I don’t think this is the one for us. I highly recommend NOT giving double the dosage like the instructions say to do in the beginning. Start off with testing your dog on a little bit and seeing how their stomachs do… I ignored the reviews about this prior to buying, since the positive/5 star ones tended to outweigh the negative reviews. Consider this your forewarning. No one wants to be cleaning up after their Great Dane at 2 am….
We have an older chihuahua that was diagnosed with liver issues and went on a renal diet. The food she needs goes uneaten as she does not like it. We also had her on joint supplements as she is very stiff. We added this to her food and she eats it now. It definitely has a “fishy” smell, and we add just a tiny amount to her food with some chicken stock. One container will last us about a year I figure, small price for our little girl to eat her needed diet. I recommended and gave some to a co worker who has an aged dog and the coworker hates the smell, but his dog loves it. Yes, I would buy again and I have recommended it
I really wanted to like this product, but it did not work for us. My 14 year old canine son has been showing signs of arthritis and this product was recommended. I followed all instructions and did the double dosing for 10 days. He started spitting up on day 4 pretty regular. That being said, he has had stomach issues before but they had resolved for the most part. On Day 11 he was much worse with walking than before so I stopped giving the joint power to him. 2 days later without Joint Power and he is much improved with his gait and no spit up.
I purchased this following my dog's orthopedic surgery, as I was told he would now be more susceptible to arthritis. I looked into this and it does have appropriate studies attached to it. I have 3 dogs total; one who just had the surgery, the other an elderly 8 year old, and a younger dog. All of them really like the flavor and it makes a great food topper because of that. For my youngest dog, I split the 2 recommended scoops between his AM and PM meal, since he likes the taste so much and doesn't necessarily need the dosing all at once. The other 2 get their scoops at once. This is a small bottle, but the scoop is tiny so it would probably stretch for a while. Not sure about the effectiveness since I just started it, but I'm excited to see future results.
I originally bought this for my 13 year old Chihuahua who was showing signs of arthritis at his last vet visit, and then I read I could give it to my IBD cat as well since this is a fantastic source of omega-3, and studies show GLM has anti-inflammatory properties. I have been giving it to both guys a few months now, and they both have had visible improvements with their joint movement. My cat used to pee standing up often, but now he is able to squat and pee normally; so he must have had some joint pain as well. My Chihuahua is also jumping around like a pup when he’s not napping. As a bonus, both of their furs are soooo silky soft now. Highly recommend this product! The container lasts months. Just make sure to do a slow & gradual introduction, especially with cats.
I've been using this as a daily supplement for my 12-year old senior Min Pin whom I adopted three years ago. I firmly believe, as a senior myself, that helping her support her aging body is the right thing to do. I researched which brand of joint support to buy at first and found that the green-lipped mussel supplies what she needs. I keep it in stock year round.
my large dog has joint popping noises. the vet recommended glucosamine last year but it didn’t improve him too much, now I use this powder as well as glucosamine pills (alternate between the two) and his joints are so much better. it took a while to notice a difference, wasn’t until over half the container was used. I use this for my other pets as well and they love it. highly reccomend
i was hoping my cat would be more like the dogs who have reviewed this product, but she really does not enjoy this. she’s a good eater, and i wanted to get her something for her joints. i mixed this with water and her food for several weeks and she just wouldn’t eat. it is very fragrant, and i’m wondering if she doesn’t like the smell. i also had a hard time getting it to dissolve completely in water. i will give this to a friend who has dogs and edit my review if they have a good experience.
I don't know what is in this but it said it's good for cats. Both of my cats threw up twice after consuming. First time I thought maybe they weren't used to it so I tried a second time couple days later and it was bad.
Has helped our senior dog immensely just 3 scoops a day along with DGP
