Questions & Answers

3 Customer Questions

Are any of the ingredients sourced from outside the US? If so, which ones and from where? I can't seem to get an answer from the manufacturer.
Answer by ChewySep 28, 2018
Every effort is made to purchase US ingredients, but on occasion it is necessary to import ingredients. These ingredients must meet all FDA, USDA & State Regulations. In addition it's required that they meet the ingredient specifications that they have set for that material, and they require strict inspection and testing prior to receiving any imported ingredient. While there are some components in their Vitamin & Mineral premix that originate from other countries (Vitamin B6 and Folic acid are only available from China). These vitamins and minerals are thoroughly tested to ensure their safety. The safety and quality of the pet foods produced is top priority and they continually monitor and test both ingredients and finished products to ensure a healthy and safe product is being provided.

What is the calorie count for the pork flavor?
Answer by ChewyJan 26, 2023
This recipe has 310 kilocalories per cup (kcal/cup).

The ingredients say "poultry fat". Which birds are in this food? I need to switch my dog off of chicken..
Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2018
The Poultry Fat is either Chicken Fat or Turkey Fat, both sourced from the United States, but depending on availability.

Not for my picky eaters

Unfortunately my dogs did not like this food but they are SO PICKY. My foster dog wasn’t a fan of it either who typically isn’t that picky. It is small bites which typically my large dogs prefer.

Doggo Loves It!

I am feeding this to a 2.5 y/o 70 lb. GSD 2 cups per serving, 2x daily. Recently transitioned from a different diet due to a medical condition. Transition went smoothly. Dog drools for this food and generally sucks it down in 4-5 minutes. Stools are very firm. I am still experimenting with the serving size, which I supplement with small amounts of raw carrots, moderate amounts of treats, and "dessert" of blueberries and plain, whole milk greek yogurt several times a week.

Great ingredients

Our Pug/Doxie LOVES this kibble. Great size, great ingredients, great price!! Keeps her looking svelte and shiny, as well as satisfied so makes me ultra happy too. No worries!

Old dog looking good!

My 12 year-old lab mix wasn't interested in his regular food so I tried this one. He loves it and I think the small pieces are easier for him to eat. His coat looks better and his discoid lupus, which makes his nose dry and cracked, cleared up, too!

Dogs like it

We have 2 smaller dogs, both under 20 pounds and the smaller sized kibbles are the perfect size for them. From what it says on the package the ingredients are, this Supreme Source, as dry dog food goes, seems to be fairly good, especially for the price. Most importantly, our dogs like it.

Picky Eater Eats It

My Shepard/collie mix is very picky. I usually have to add cooking grease to her food before she'll eat it. However I brought her to my in laws and was shocked when she gobbled up their dogs food. This was what they were buying. So now she eats her food every day without bribery. Also her coat is softer and her skin is no longer flaky. Very pleased.

I don't know if there is cause and effect here

Chewy was out of stock of my usual salmon-based Supreme Source kibble, so I chose their Wild Boar recipe. My Great Dane immediately got very loose stool, waking me up 3 times the first night and twice the next. As soon as I bought another product at the grocery store (I still couldn't find Supreme Source salmon), she got regular again. Vets tell you not to switch dog foods abruptly on a dog, so I will try to mix the two kibbles together and see how that works.

Moldy food

I’ve been using this brand for a long time and my dog loves it. I recently opened a bag I received from chewy and had been feeding it to her for about a week, when I noticed there were moldy chunks of food in it. Really disappointed.
