Description

Give your kitties a safe way to get in and out while keeping unwanted guests out with the SureFlap DualScan Cat Door. It features DualScan technology that recognizes your cats, and lets you control which one gets to go out and which one stays in, all the while staying locked for other animals like racoons. It works by picking up on your cats’ unique microchip or collar tag, and only opens depending on your settings. Simply program in your cats’ microchip with just one button―you can store up to 32 cat IDs in the system―and install on any door, window or wall. Plus, if one kitty gets out when he shouldn’t, the built-in safety sensor recognizes your feline escapee and lets him back in safely. The system is compatible with all microchips and RFID collar tags.

FAQ

My pet isn't microchipped, can it use Sure Petcare microchip products?

We recommend you use Sure Petcare products in conjunction with your pet's implanted microchip so that they don't need to wear a collar. However, Sure Petcare products can be used with a Sure Petcare RFID Collar Tag that is unique if your pet is not microchipped.

The Micorchip Pet Door, the Microchip Pet Door Connect and the Microchip Pet Feeder come with one collar tag supplied.

Collar tags are not supplied with the Microchip Cat Flap and the DualScan Microchip Cat Flap and can be purchased separately.

Where can I find the serial number of my Sure Petcare product?

The serial number of the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap and the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap can be found on the underside of the battery compartment lid.

The serial number of the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door and Microchip Pet Door Connect can be found on the underside of the button compartment lid.

The serial number of the SureFeed products (Microchip Pet Feeder & Sealed Pet Bowl) can be found on the underside of the product.

What kind of batteries do you recommend using with Sure Petcare products?

The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap and the DualScan Microchip Cat Flap operate using 4 AA (1.5V) batteries.

The SureFlap Microchip Pet Door, SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder & SureFeed Sealed Pet Bowl operate using 4 C cell (1.5V) batteries.

We recommend the use of good quality, alkaline batteries in order to give the longest lifetime. We do not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries with Sure Petcare products.

How long will the batteries last in my SureFeed product?

The batteries on your SureFeed product should last a minimum of 6 months with normal use. This battery life is expected when using good quality, non-rechargeable, alkaline batteries.

    Solution to Keep Raccoons Out

By Blaze on Sep 29, 2021

We replaced our old cat door to our garage with this dual scan cat door to keep unwanted animal intruders out. It was easy to sync with our cats chip and easy to install where the old door was. We and our cat are very happy. Good price on Chewy and fast delivery.

Cat broke through door after 6 months

    By AReed1992 on Aug 7, 2021

Used it for the basement door so our cat could get to her litter box during the day without the dogs getting nosey. We also lock it at night so she wasn't waking us up. After about 6 months of using it, she managed to bust the dial locking mechanism from repeatedly trying to claw her way through the door at night. Tried to contact the manufacturer for a replacement dial, but never heard back after multiple attempts. If you have an intelligent cat that is very persistent, this is not the door for you.

Too small..too loud..not good for walls

By Cattales on Feb 7, 2021

The first one that came to me had obviously been opened.. items were haphazard in the box and the hardware bag was torn and some screws were missing. I contacted Chewy and they immediately sent a replacement.. though it took about a week to get to me. I concur with some of the comments that mention the loud click of the locking mechanism engaging and disengaging. My cat is getting over that but it's definitely an impediment. My biggest issues are the size of the opening and the claim that it can be installed through walls. My cat weighs about 13 lbs and he is able to get through the door but it's like a military crawl with his back legs sticking out of the opening before he finally gets to The first one that came to me had obviously been opened.. items were haphazard in the box and the hardware bag was torn and some screws were missing. My biggest issues are the size of the opening and the claim that it can be installed through walls. My cat weighs about 13 lbs and he is able to get through the door but it's like a military crawl with his back legs sticking out of the opening before he finally gets to the other side. I do not recommend this going through walls. It doesn't make sense that SureFlap doesn't just provide some kind of an insert that you can cut to length. If this was going through a standard 2-in door it probably wouldn't be an issue. But if it's going through a wall there is a significant gap and buying extenders that are only two inches thick or so and having to buy multiple of those to get through a wall just means a longer narrower tunnel and an unessential expense. The microchip reader does a good job. The problem is you have to make your cat stick their head into the thing with it clicking to get it started. So your cat will already be gun shy about this crazy contraption to start with. If I didn't already have a hole in my wall or if I had a house that was constructed out of more forgiving material I would probably be looking for an alternative. … more

    my cat outsmarted it

By Beverly on Jul 10, 2020

We got this in order to allow our older cat unrestricted indoor/outdoor access but keep our new Bengal/Ragdoll kittens inside. It worked great...for a while. Then one of the boys figured he could tailgate her on her way in or out. And then, I think thanks to his opposable thumbs (he's polydactyl), he figured out how to hold down the latch and open the door inward to let himself out. So we have to keep it locked all the time, which kind of defeats the purpose. It also just started randomly unlocking itself all the time, so I also had to pull the batteries. As a product in general, it's fine. For my household, it's basically useless.

DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH IMPLANTED CHIP

By Ilonka on Jul 17, 2020

My cat has his chip in between his shoulder blades (which is where most cats have been implated) but it was too far away from the chip reader to register and open the catflap. Could only get it to function properly with vendors collar tags which hang off a collar, unfortunately, my cat will not keep a breakaway safety collar on for more than 12 hours (so costs me $30 for lost tags and collar) to realize this system does not work well with an implanted chip - so sad I really wanted this to work.

long delay and scares the cats.

By Catnana on Jul 9, 2020

I so wanted this to work! only one of my three cats will use it because of the noise and delay it takes to open the door. also if they are trying to get inside fast because of predators the delay will prevent them from a quick entry.

    Great Product!

By Marlee on Jun 9, 2020

Within a couple of tries, my kitty was able to go in and out easily! The set up for the collar tags was quick and simple, and the instillation was very easy.

    Exactly what we needed!

By PeteTheCatsMom on Dec 17, 2019

We adopted an awesome stray cat- but he prefers to come and go on his own terms to play, hunt, sunbathe, and use the restroom. This cat door eliminated the constant meowing at the door to go in and out, without worrying about any other random animals getting access to our house as well. The microchip sensor has worked perfectly. We installed the door unconventionally- mounted on a painted wood board, which was slid into the window channel, with weather stripping, window locks, and alarm sensor. It has been working GREAT! Just be advised the locking mechanism goes a little crazy when the batteries are low- so keep an extra set on hand. Easy Installation, Works Well

    By Swanny10 on Sep 25, 2019

We ordered this door as a replacement for the one we had that was non-locking. It nicely fit the existing opening and was easy to install. Our cats were a little hesitant at first, but both mastered it within a day or two. Best of all- no more possums coming in thru the cat door at night!
