    Great door!

By CKorecki on Jun 3, 2021

This door was expensive and needing to buy the hub separately was another punch to the wallet however aside from one or two hiccups it performs excellently and with a little bit of training I expect everyone will be using it normal in a week or two. One of our cats took to it on the first day. I put catnip spray on both sides of the door to make them more comfortable with it and sprinkled treats on both sides so they associate it with good things. Pros: As installation on wood it was easy and took one person as long as you follow the instructions. Our house already came with a dog door so I just put a panel of wood over it and cut the hole for the SureFlap door, I suggest cutting just outside This door was expensive and needing to buy the hub separately was another punch to the wallet however aside from one or two hiccups it performs excellently and with a little bit of training I expect everyone will be using it normal in a week or two. Pros: As installation on wood it was easy and took one person as long as you follow the instructions. Our house already came with a dog door so I just put a panel of wood over it and cut the hole for the SureFlap door, I suggest cutting just outside the line you trace or you're going to do a lot of sanding. The cats all synced and the actuators retract the locks anytime they come near it, so it performs as expected. Being able to set profiles for everyone is nice and the ability to lock the door from my phone when I've forgotten to earlier and I'm already in bed is the icing on the cake. (If you lock it the cats can still get inside, they just can't go outside) I like that the hub ears blink when a cat is using the door and you can dim the lights. My hub is currently 18ft from the door and I've had 0 issues with it, setup was quick and easy. Cons: More of a nitpicky thing but I agree with another review that it doesn't read neck microchips as well as the collar tag. It recognizes it enough to open the lock but not always read the cat that's walked through, so in the app it will say an animal has gone through the door instead of the cat's name, or it may say the cat looked through the door but didn't go through it when actually they did. I'd strongly recommend using the collar tag if you want correct readings. I've also taped down the locks temporarily for training purposes bc as the cats are unsure right now they are just sitting in the tunnel causing it to lock and unlock constantly. It does everything I bought it for so my cats can now enjoy their new catio and I have piece of mind and I don't have to manually lock and unlock the door every day. For me the cats profiles in the app was just an added benefit. I'm pretty happy with it and I would recommend. … more

Pet Door / Chip Activated ?

By exhiker on Apr 8, 2021

The door is very sturdy but noisy. I had a very difficult time getting my cat not to be afraid of the abrupt noise the door actuators make. Took 2 weeks of leaving the door propped open with a bowl of food to lure him past the noise. Also there should be an “increased sensitivity adjustment” for the chip sensor. The door does not pick up on my cats microchip apparently because it wasn’t placed close enough to his head so I’m forced to use the collar tag that’s included. Unfortunately my cat loses collars like there isn’t a tomorrow! The door was the most expensive cat door they offered and I feel that these issues should have been resolved before selling it.
