    Disgusting

    By Momof2pigs on Jan 29, 2021

So...I'm forced to start trying other hays due to Oxbow changing their packaging and turning hay time into a nightmare. This came and I was surprised at how brown and dead it looked, opened it up grabbed a hunk and it's just that, long brown dry stringy hay, lots of small pieces that wouldn't stay in a hay tray, OH and dirt, literally clumps of it! It smells bad too but what do I know, I'm not a Guinea pig so I let them be the judge. Their tray was empty so I knew they were hungry and they always get excited at hay time. They took a whiff and went to the opposite end of their cage! I tried hand feeding some pieces to them and they wouldn't open their mouths, it was like trying to feed a dog a So...I'm forced to start trying other hays due to Oxbow changing their packaging and turning hay time into a nightmare. They took a whiff and went to the opposite end of their cage! I tried hand feeding some pieces to them and they wouldn't open their mouths, it was like trying to feed a dog a brussel sprout! So I shoved it back in the bag, retrieved their Oxbow (which has been transferred to a trash bag) and they were happy, eating it like crazy. So, I'm at a loss, I either need to keep trying other brands or stick with what they love and deal with the horrible new packaging. To make a long story short, NO I would NOT recommend this hay! … more

    Our rabbits won't touch this

    By Mtnmom5 on Jan 30, 2021

We were so excited to find Timothy hay on Chewy, and we bought several bags through our Autoship and our rabbits won't touch it. When opening other bags, the smell is fresh, but his one didn't have that when we opened it. Our rabbits didn't touch it over a couple of days so we are going back to our other brand. It's a bit more on the pricy end, but well worth it.

    FEATHERS in hay

By hannah on Jan 27, 2021

received our first shipment and there were feathers mixed in with the hay?!?! um??? also lots of dirt and other various flowers and unidentifiable dried sticks and leaf things other than “timothy hay” as stated in the description....weird. bun will eat the flowers however, so added a star. but please pack the bag more carefully as to not ship out feathers. thanks

    stringy and lots of brown

By Maria on Mar 3, 2021

My Ripley did not want to touch this hay at all, and I don't blame him. The hay is very thin though soft in texture. The quality is poor with perhaps more than 60% brown colored hay.

    bunny loves it

    By Mermaidbabe01 on Jan 8, 2021

My baby bun loves this !!! He goes crazy when I open the bag to give him some fresh hay! He’s always eating it and rummaging through for bonus pieces of dandelion and clover . Thanks for making a great product and making it herbicide and pesticide free for my little fur Babe.

    My chinchillas love it

By Vicki on Jan 2, 2021

My chinchillas are picky. I decided to try this hay because I like that it’s in a small bag instead of a large box. Larger amounts seems to have tiny pieces and dust that gets thrown out. This hay has a sweet smell and my chinchillas love it!

    So disappointed

By Anna on Dec 26, 2020

I have never written a review for a product before, but I felt I needed to since this was the worst hay I've ever seen or tried to feed my bunnies in the 10 years I've had rabbits. It was brown, cold, and felt a little wet.

    Rabbits Hated It

By Cynthia on Oct 21, 2020

I bought this hay along with another brand of hay because I needed to find a new hay brand (couldn't afford to ship OneEarUp hay to where I live anymore). My rabbits absolutely LOVED the other hay (Rabbit Hole Hay) but they hardly touched this one. I bought two bags and the hay was NOT green the way it is in the picture when you buy it. The hay was mostly brown with bits of green here and there. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch but both of the bags I bought from Sweet Meadow Farm were brown the way I described. I ended up using this as a back up in case the Rabbit Hole Hay runs out before my next order, but even then my rabbits tend to sniff it and hop away. Good quality, strong smell

By Jenn on Aug 26, 2020

I wanted to try organic hay for my holland lop bun and saw this was new at chewy. I think for organic, it's a good quality hay and price! At first I didn't mind the smell - it smells like wildflowers and honey. But after a couple weeks of it (living in an apartment), I'm starting to feel nausea from how strong it smells. If you have bunnies that live outdoors or in a separate room, I'm sure it would be fine, but I won't be buying again because of the strong scent. My bun is also not the biggest fan of it - he prefers the Standlee timothy hay because it's thick and crunchy :D
