We're in the process of slowing getting everything together to get a snake and I ordered this cage. It's good quality and it was easy to put together. After peeling all the film off with my husband's help it took maybe 30 minutes. The downside and why I don't give it 5 stars is the screws to put the support bars on the mesh top won't go in. The screw holes are there but they're almost solid and impossible to put the screws in so I have to figure out how to put the rods in. Other than that it's perfect.
Love these enclosures. I don’t know what is wrong with the people having bad reviews. These are awesome. I know the updated them in September of 22, and I bought two. Took about 2 hours each to assemble because the directions are useless, but the end result is awesome. If you are buying these for ac snake be sure to buy a sliding ratchet lock. If you are biting more than one be sure to go to the manufacturer website and buy the stacking pieces. Overall very very hair with these.
I was afraid to buy this because of the reviews, but the tank I wanted was out of stock on a different site. The good thing is, this tank is nearly identical to the other one. Same simple installation, same size and features. I do wish it had cord outlets on both sides. I was afraid that this wouldn't stack with the one from the "roach site", but after buying their stacking pegs I was able to make it work. The support bars work well to hang lights. No issues so far, I'm sure I'll get more of these as my reptile collection expands.
You get what you pay for
Some of the items in the package came in damaged and the screws for the support bars did not work and would not fit in the pre drilled holes. Luckily the top is strong enough without them. The tank it self is huge and somewhat easy to assemble. The instructions left much to be desired and you could tell there was an issue with translating them to English. Overall the tank works ok. Just disappointed some pieces were a little damaged or pieces would not fit at all.
I almost didn't get this cage because of some of the reviews, but I'm glad I ignored the haters. Took me about and hour to put together and it's a solid cage. Half the price of anything thing else out there and works as it should. I'd have to say I recommend this cage for people who like bang for their buck. Haters will say this review is fake.
perfect for my tortoise
I couldn’t wait to receive this and I am really happy with how it looks! It took about a half hour to put together. I gave it four stars because the quality is not the best but other than that it’s a great enclosure for my tortoise. I would buy again.
not for the less construction inclined
To start with, the instructions are pretty much garbage. They tell you nothing, give no insight. Which relatively easy to assemble if you know your way around a plastic mallet and an interesting design choice of plastic pegs, it is certainly not a 12 minute build. I routinely put together large and complicated furniture pieces and it still took me over 2 hours. It’s best to set out a whole afternoon dedicated to putting it together. Besides the instructions and assembly, the packaging was one of the worst choices I have ever seen. The 2 x 2 panels are taped to the acrylic sliding doors. This would be fine if it were over the edges or corners and could be pulled up, but this is two strips down in the center of the panels. I feared snapping them in half trying to separate them. On top of that, almost every edge piece had some kind of sticky residue that was near impossible to scrape off. Not a bad enclosure design, but just executed very poorly.
Don’t waste your money
This this was a total waste of money. All the proper snake enclosure builders are backed up for weeks on orders. This one wasn’t and was cheaper, so I gave this one a try. You get what you pay for. The holes weren’t drilled properly, the grooves for the panels didn’t align properly, and it broke when I tried to take it apart to try and align it properly. $280 wasted.
Bearded dragon loves it
Great product for the price. Assembly was simple. My only issue with it was that there is no mechanism to lock the sliding doors; however, it was easy enough to modify it myself by drilling a hole and inserting a pin to block the doors from sliding.
Great budget reptile enclosure.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of this cage. I have used many brand PVC cages over the years, but for a budget cage this is definitely up there. Assembly was a snap, all pieces were packed well, and the instructions were clear. The cage even survived my late-night attempt at getting it onto the shelf fully assembled (which required flexing the shelf a little to get it there) The material is very thin, so I feel much better having it on a shelf with a solid floor, but overall I'm pretty impressed at the price to quality ratio. If I were to make changes I would recommend putting some silicone along the lower edges of the frame to prevent any water leaking for humid species, and I ended up not using the roof cross-braces due to the length and mounting position of my UVB lamp. The cage is super lightweight making it very easy to move.
