About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

Ingredients for Better Health

The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.

TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.

BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.

RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

  • So Glad I Chose This

    By on

After doing research over all the different brands and what I should be feeding my dog, I chose Taste of the Wild. I think it will be hard for me to switch to anything else. My dog eats his food up and the other dogs in the house are jealous - will even eat his food as treats! My dog has always had a soft coat but it's improved so much since he has been on this food. Happy dog makes a happy momma!

Taste of the Wild is a dog food I truly believe in . Being a Vet Tech for over 21 years , I have done tons of research on dog foods . I have two Rottweilers , Dexter 2yrs old and Terra a very healthy 15 1/2 yr old . Kody Kidd is my hyperactive 7 yr old Italian Greyhound and CeeCee is my boss of the world 3 lb. Longhaired Chihuahua , CeeCee will be 17 years old in July . Each one is very healthy , beautiful coats and long lived . I have fed Taste of the Wild for all most 15yrs. now . I love the food and so does my furry family . Thank you !

  • What a Difference

    By on

A family member let me have one of their Long Haired Shepherds to keep at my house to play with my Luna; another Long Haired Shepherd of mine. This dog was skin and bones, with dry looking hair. I already feed my 4 dogs TASTE OF WILD Bison and deer. After her being on T.o.W. for one month; she was a changed dog. She loves the taste of this food, has gained weight, looks wonderful, NO dry skin, she has more energy and plays like a pup. Her hair coat is finally getting longer too. What a difference from the food she was being feed prior to coming to my house. Great Choice

  • Taste of the Wild Definitely Does not Taste Good

    By on

I bought this food because of the excellent reviews, however, my Shiba Inu does not like the taste of this food. To get her to eat it, it always had to be mixed with water and egg or bone broth. You should not have to mix anything to get a dog to eat it. This is the first dog food she has not liked. I used Orijen for a long time, however, they must have changed the formula because all of a sudden she didn't want to eat it. I have since switched to Merrick for seniors (chicken and sweet potato formula) and she loves the taste and it has excellent ingredients (no mixing with anything else required). I also have another friend who has three different kinds of dogs and none of her dogs liked Taste I bought this food because of the excellent reviews, however, my Shiba Inu does not like the taste of this food. • Great Product but not 20% Off

    By on

This post will probably be deleted by the webmaster, but we have purchased this exact same product at $43-$49 for many years! The retail cost is $49 and again, has been but our store always gives members AT LEAST $3, and UP to $10 once every 3 months or so! My point, 20% OFF would be very close to a $10 discount, or, selling at $39! So it was in fact disappointing to see “20% Off” advertised, and then see the offer at one dollar less, $48? That is a LOT more than 20% savings? Thank You!

  • Great food for dogs with allergies.

    By on

We have three dogs that are constantly scratching and biting at their fur. We have had all of them tested only to find out that they were allergic to something in their diet. We were instructed to give them Benadryl by the vet and it worked so-so. We switched there food to the Taste of Nature brand and within about a week they stopped scratching and chewing on themselves. There coats have become shiny and they seem to have more energy.

  • Rudi's new food!

    By on

I ordered Taste of the Wild High Prairie Grain Free dog food for my dog, Rudi, and after checking prices, decided to try Chewy. It came within 2 days, the Fed Ex delivery man brought it into my house and gave Rudi a cookie which means she'll love him forever! The dog food seems great and the delivery is also great. Prices were good plus Rudi got a very treasured toy along with the food. Great things all around!

  • Seems good

I decided to try this instead of Wellness Limited Ingredient just to save a few dollars. I have a pitbull that is sensitive to many foods. First of all, both my dogs love it. They react to feeding time as if I was feeding them Kibbles & Bits. At the beginning, my pit had a very upset stomach. I mean, bad enough he exploded in the house. He has always been house-trained for the 4.5 yrs I've had him. So that was alarming. However, I can't be 100% that it was the food. Sometimes he eats cat poop or something else on walks that may have done him in. His bathrooms have regulated though after a couple days. I haven't used this long enough to comment on skin or coat changes, but the dogs don't have I decided to try this instead of Wellness Limited Ingredient just to save a few dollars. We decided to switch our mastiff, Delilah, to a different food due to some digestive issues she has been having with her previous food. Taste of the Wild came highly recommended by several individuals. We are still in the process of transitioning her over completely, but she LOVES this new food and we have seen an improvement in her prior issues already! Plus, you can't beat Chewy's fast shipping and great service!!
