Transition Instructions
When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.
Learn More About Taste of the Wild From Our Team of Experts
They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.
Energy That Lasts
Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.
Immune System Support
Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.
Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.
Perfectly Balanced Omegas
Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.

I would feed puppy formula to my GSD until they’re at least 18 months
Is Taste of the Wild good for dogs with epilepsy?
Who and where is the dog food made and bagged? Are all ingredients sources from the USA?
Answer by • Jan 08, 2018
Taste of the Wild has five manufacturing facilities, all located in the United States: two in California, one in Missouri, one in South Carolina and one in Arkansas. Taste of the Wild uses some ingredients that are not USA sourced. The lamb from New Zealand, lamb meal and venison from Australia, duck meal from France, potato protein from Germany and dried chicory root from Belgium. There are ingredients that are critical to the formulations (i.e. folic acid and taurine) that can only be sourced out of China.
Is there any by products or cornmeal in this dog food
Answer by • Apr 18, 2018
This formula is free of by-products and corn products.
I switched flavors on this order. The dogs don’t seem impressed with it. They are leaving a lot in bowl uneaten. Which is not like them. I usually get salmon flavored. When I have switched before, they loved me doing that. Not this time. Which is why I give 3 stars. Something they are not crazy about it.

Poor quality, gave my dog severe allergic reaction
Must not have very clean ingredients. I wanted to try a new food that my picky maltese would enjoy. He usually eats Royal Canine but its pretty expensive. This one seemed decent and had good reviews but unfortunately it gave my dog very bad runs and reddish goop around his eyes.

New formula sucks
I added this to cart because my dog has been on it for over a year with no problems. I don’t know what is in the new formula but my dog has had diarrhea from it for days now. Not cool to change the formula!!! And not cool to not warn consumers better! Now I’m having to spend more money on the vet to address the diarrhea from this food. Highly upset.

They love it!
My dogs were bored with their old formula and not eating much, so we switched brands and they have been loving it. Would recommend for picky eaters! Also, great for sensitive tummies!

Pupper loves it.
This food agrees with my pupper who is a American pitbull terrier so he has a very sensitive stomach and has skin issues. His stools are text book perfect,no gas and he loves the taste.Im a retired vet tech so I know the problem with feeding a dry dog food.
I feed him 3/4 this and 1/4 lotus dry food topped with boiled chicken.

Would have preferred Ancient Grains
Since losing my eager eater last year ): I don’t need an autoship as often. But my girl likes both flavors- Ancient w grains and Grainless. But my vet recommends WITH. Chewy could not provide the w grains product. Grainless in short supply too. Bisons in short supply? Maybe.

Dogs won't eat
Both of my dogs won't eat this food. I recently changed brands. Tried introducing it to them gradually as in the past. But they refused to eat it from day one. I even tried adding wet food but didn't help.

While they were having problems obtaining the usual recipe I get for Finn they worked with me to find a suitable replacement. He transitioned with no problems.
Customer service is definitely a high priority for Chewy!!

We use this for our beagle mix who is prone to ear infections. Since we have used this for 4 years, she has only had maybe 3, whereas before she would have at least 4 every year.
Our local store has had a supply chain problem getting this in so I'm so glad Chewy came to our rescue!
