Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

  • Great Food

    By on

My 9 month old basset hound needed a higher quality food that will help with the "hound smell", help him put on a little weight, and just overall better for him. I spoke to the vet and she suggested the pacific stream flavor for his coat/skin since Bassets tend to have skin issues. I have noticed an improvement in his coat, it is much shinier and healthier. I feel like his ears have less build up (sounds crazy but feels like the truth!) and he loves the taste of it. The only minus is that he is nearly 50 lbs and the food pellets are teeny tiny for him for it's a little hard for him to eat it sometimes. Not all puppies are tiny!

  • Aw some puppy food

    By on

We gave our new German Shepard puppy blue buffalo puppy food for large breed pup for 9days before our chewy shipment arrived. She started eating her poo and we were confused to say the least. Research and our vet said some breeds will eat their baby’s poo to stay near and tidy and others eat poo when they are not getting enough protein in their diet. When we started the Taste of the wild that behavior immediately stopped. Can’t tell ya how glad we were.! Will only use this brand from now on.

  • Great puppy food

    By on

My golden was having loose stools after switching her to blue wilderness, she was having loose stools throughout the day so I decided to try taste of the wild after reading the great reviews. So happy I did, I also switched her from chicken to Pacific stream as I have read some puppies can't tolerate chicken flavors. Stools are solid and soft now with minimal smell. My golden and king charles both seem to love the taste as well! I only wish taste of the wild had a closure to the bag to keep fresh otherwise would have gotten 5 stars! Chewy service is impeccable, keep up the great service chewy!!!

  • Weaned Puppy/switching kibble.

I just recently adopted a 6 week old lab/Staffordshire pit mix. Who's mommas milk dried up early, she was on a different brand kibble and not being monitored for feedings. She only had at most one day of some watery stools when I started her on the Taste of the wild Pacific puppy grain free brand. I also put I tiny bit of milk replacement in it for about a week, then switched to water then stopped. She is sleek, happy and healthy. The vet was so impressed she asked what I was feeding her. When I told her she thought for sure it was a prescription brand, or fresh wet food. But a friend of mine recommended the Taste of the wild Pacific because of the omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, and how shiny her girls coat was. I love this brand, and so does my baby at least so far! … more

  • Salmon or Bison?

    By on

So the quality of the food is great, especially for my growing husky puppies with thick puffy fur. The salmon helps their coats look super shiny and soft, my only concern is that one of my puppies seemed to like the Bison formula better but he started to get a hang of this one since I wanted to mix it up a bit. Of course great quality comes with a cost but Chewy keeps it at a reasonable price.

  • Not my dog's favorite

    By on

Bought this because of the whole Fromm/Chewy break-up and subsequent deal on new food for our dog... my wife's friend at work recommended this brand, but we're now on the second flavor variety and our dog hasn't been interested in either... she's a bit of a picky eater but we've literally had to add something in the bowl to every meal (chicken, cheese, fish oil) or she leaves it sitting in the bowl all day. The ingredient list seems pretty good; who knows! it might be the dog. The situation surely makes it hard to give it a rating good or bad. Still got a bag and a half left so we're sticking with it for a while... might try another brand next time.

  • So far so good!

    By on

Tried out a small 15lb bag to make sure my dog liked the flavor. My dog is a mutt looks like a border collie shepherd mix and hes about 8 months. He had mostly soft stool before on this food, have been trying to find a good food thats healthy and will firm it up and this does the trick. About halfway done with this 30lb bag and planning to stay on this food for a while

  • No issues with the brand.

    By on

He came with this brand of puppy food, but it might be too rich for his digestive system. Our vet suggested we try a different food. Nothing against or for the food or brand, but I can't recommend it either.

My adult dogs have had TOTW for 14 years. I got my first Pyrenean Mastiff puppy at 4 months. The breeder had been feeding him TOTW salmon puppy kibble. He loves it and is growing in a balanced way. TY.
