About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

Ingredients for Better Health

The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.

TOMATOES AND TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.

BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.

RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

good but can improve!

This food is great and the ingredients+ the guaranteed analysis looks great but the peas/ lentils are way to high on the ingredients. There’s sources out there that say to much peas/lentils can cause some issues but like I said that’s the only issue I have w totw. A little pricey but not bad

I think this is a great product but was not able to get the size i wanted. What was shipped was damaged and i would not feed to my dogs so they only sent me a small bag and seemed like they did not care about sending damaged product out. Was damaged at point of order cause the bag was taped and opened in the box it came in

My dog loves his new food

My dog has become a very picky eater and I had to change dog food to get him to eat. He loves his new food and is back to eating regularly!

My Dog Loves It!

My 1 1/2 year old shih-poo had been on the same brand of puppy/dog food for his entire life, and he stopped eating his food very often, so we decided to switch to this. He REALLY loves it, especially if I put a little hot water in it. He brings me his bowl so many times I have to tell him no so he doesn't overeat!

Not for us.

I purchased this product because it said no chicken. I fed to my girls and they started scratching within a day. My bad, egg product must be from a chicken.

Venison not chicken!

My dog cannot tolerate chicken. This dogfood has quality ingredients, and NOT chicken!...but I wasn't sure that my dog would like them given the name but I knew that she loves venison so thought she needed a little change. She loved it at first but, as with all dog foods, her love turns to like and then I have to switch flavors for a bit. This isn't a reflection of the dogfood. She goes back to loving it after a couple of days. Overall, pretty satisfied and the price is ok.

Would not buy again

I bought this after my dog stopped eating her other food. She seemed to like this for a bit, but wasn't super excited about it longer term like some other foods. It seemed to give her a lot more gas than usual. Maybe all of the legumes because it is grain free? I might try one of the Taste of the Wild foods with grains added.
