Transition Instructions

When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

Ingredients for Better Health

The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.

TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.

BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.

RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

  • Pine Forest Taste of the Wild ROCKS!

    By on

My English Bulldog takes dinnertime very seriously. He's less than a year old and we were feeding him another brand of very good food. He got bad tear stains under his eyes that wouldn't come clean. As soon as we switched to TOTW, his eyes cleared up completely. His stools have been perfect and he's much less gassy now. His toenails began to grow much, much faster than they did before. He loves this food and I love the difference in him since we switched. Taste of the Wild is great food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • Excellent food

We have a Greyhound with digestive issues. Had to go to a prescription diet. The prescription diet did its job, but we were hoping to get her off the prescription diet at some point. Our Vet suggested a venison based food. After some research I decided to try Taste of the Wild's Pine Forest food. Our dog is happy, we are happy. She loves the food and is not having any digestive issues. We would definitely recommend this food for any dog.

  • Favorite Flavor

    By on

This is the 3rd flavor of Taste of the Wild we've tried for our dogs, 2 Pit Bulls, and 1 mini-aussie. This is their favorite flavor so far. They will eat the other flavors but with this flavor they don't leave any kibble in their dishes. My Aussie is very finicky and she cleans this up without hesitation. One of my Pitty's is fairly fussy too and cleans his dish every time. The other Pit Bull would eat rocks if you put ranch dressing on them. Also, their coats are beautiful and they all look great and healthy.

I ordered Taste of the Wild Pine Forest for my two boarder collies. They are eating it but not that enthused with the flavor. So back to Taste of the Wild High Planes with bison on the next order. Thank you for carrying this brand of dog food. They have grown up eating this brand for 10 years now and seem to favor the bison mix.

  • Taste of the Wild Pine Forest

I could try to review Taste of the Wild Pine Forest as if this were Trip Advisor, but that would require me to actually taste it. I love my dogs, but I don't go there. They love Pine Forest, as they do all TOW varieties. Their coats are shiny, their tails are wagging, they've never turned down TOW. Chewy's 2-day free shipment (for orders over $49) never fails to deliver on time, it's a great service. Some TOW varieties are priced under $49 for a 30-lb bag, so just add some toothpaste, dog waste bags, or treats to your order.

  • Generally pretty good

    By on

Taste of the Wild has generally been great for my dog, and she really likes the Pine Forest (venison) flavor. I've also noticed an increase in her energy with this one! Unfortunately, this flavor seems to give her soft and mushy stools so I will not be reordering. No problems with other flavors though!

  • My dogs love it

    By on Top 100 Contributor

So far my rescue dogs have loved all of the TOTW flavors. They seem to really enjoy this one, so I keep coming back to it. The ingredients are good, the price is on target with other quality brands, and my picky pups enjoy it. I'm a happy dog mom!

  • Seem to like it

    By on

My two seem to like the Venison. Although, they like it better with a topper. Both my old girl (16 yrs. old) and my youngster (1 year old) are doing well on it. No digestion issues and are both at good healthy weights.

  • Tasty Treats

    By on

The "girls" love the taste of this food! We have a easy-keeper piglet who eats mostly green beans, and we needed a high-quality protein source for her. We've been feeding TOTW for over four years; their calorie counts are among the lowest available in any dry food, they're grain-free, and are quite economical. Pine Forest seems to be a very popular flavor! Chewy is so fantastic; I get on their website, go to my previous order list, and click, click, click, re-order some of our girls' best-loved foods and toys. And Chewy ships free, all we have to do is open the box!
