Are the "pasture raised Angus Cows" raised in the United States or are they sourced from another country?
Answer by ChewyMar 29, 2021
All Taste of the Wild recipes are manufactured in and distributed from their five state-of-the-art facilities all located in the United States – two in California, one in Missouri, one in Arkansas and one in South Carolina. The pasture-raised Angus beef originates from the U.S.

What is in the "NATURAL FLAVOR"? My furry friend is allergic to Pork, Lamb, Soybean, Rices, Oat, Kelp, and Sweet Potato.
Answer by ChewyJul 01, 2020
Natural flavor is a natural ingredient that is added to enhance the flavor and acceptance of the product. It can be from vegetable or chicken sources and does not contain MSG. Some examples are parsley or other herbs and hydrolyzed proteins, processed so the average molecular weight of the protein is too small to be detected by the immune system, which helps avoid adverse reactions in allergic pets. There is no intact protein from the chicken.

Is the angus type grain-free?
Answer by ChewySep 09, 2020
This recipe is grain-free. The facility in which this food is made also makes food that may contain other ingredients, such as grains. Trace amounts of these other ingredients may be present.

what is the percentage of carbohydrates and sugar. my dog loves taste of the wild but is now a diabetic.
Answer by ChewySep 09, 2021
Taste of the Wild does not add any sugars directly to their foods. The carbohydrate on an as-fed basis is 36.2%. On a dry matter basis it is 10 grams /100 kcal. Please consult with your veterinarian to ensure this diet is suitable for your pet's diagnosed condition.

Good Limited Ingredient Kibble

My Blue Heeler has a lot of food allergies and it was a real struggle finding him food he could tolerate. He was eating Zignature Limited Ingredient Duck mixed with Against the Grain canned Duck for years until they decided to add probiotics. My dog started itching again so I decided to try Taste of the Wild Prey Angus beef. It also has probiotics, but he seems to tolerate it pretty well. He still scratches but not nearly as much as with the new Zignature. The only thing I don't like is the bag. It's kind of flimsy and I don't know how it will hold up to constant opening and closing because it takes awhile for us to go through 25 lbs. I also wish it had a Velcro closure. Anyway, my dog likes it and gobbles it up.

So far so GOOD!!!

My Great Dane Irish Wolfhound cross has the most sensitive stomach I've ever had to deal with and I've been searching for 2 years for a food that would help his issue and that he would actually like. So far this Taste of the Wild limited ingredient kibble is a big hit with him and with me. No stomach problems, no diarrhea, no itchy nose. Thank you Chewy for always working with pet parents to help find a good fit with food. Much appreciated

Not My Pups Favorite

Gave this a go as I'm going in for major surgery and have a pup who is allergic to life, literally. This wasn't his favorite and it was only eaten after he was starving. It may be great for some, just not my pups fave.

Trial of Limited Ingredient Foods

My GSD can't eat grains so am experimenting with different brands to see which she likes the taste of that won't mess with her digestion or skin. She seems to like this one.

Five Paw Review

Both of my large dogs love this one. Have tried several other flavors but this one is my picky eater's favorite so it gets 5 Paws.

For a picky eater

My girl is a picky eater; she’s just starting to eat this brand; I’m in the process of transitioning her. It seems ok, I know she prefers smaller kibble though.

Best Dog for Sharpeis

I have tried so many different dog food brands for my two sharpei that have allergies and sensitive stomachs. Prey limited ingredient they love, it's within budget and no more throwing up or scratching themselves raw. If anyone has ever had a Sharpei, they know how sensitive their skin and stomachs can be. Try it for your dogs!

very good for allergies

We had switched my lab from the grain free TOW to the ancient grain. We quickly realized that the ancient grain formulation changed her coat, and most of all set her skin (especially her belly ) on fire. We switched to the prey formula and it quickly went away. She also lost about 5 lbs taking her from 80 to 75 lbs. My vet was very happy to find a food she tolerated and brought her down to a healthier weight.

Higher fiber & dogs like it

We have been all over the place recently looking for foods for our two standard poodles. One of them is very picky, and was getting prescription high fiber food (very expensive) but that was not available for a while. I did some searching and discovered that this one is higher fiber than most. Now both of our dogs are eating it pretty well. Their poops are good. The younger one (who is prone to stinky flatulence) has not been farting much with it, so that is another plus. Their coats are good. The only downside I can see is that the large bag doesn't have a ziplock or velcro type closure, so sealing it up again in a reasonably airtight way is difficult. (For dog food the velcro type closure is better - kibble dust can make the ziplock hard to reseal.) We will see how it works long term.

Dogs dance for this food

I have been using Taste of the Wild for a while, though a different flavor. I decided to give them the Prey Angus Beef flavor and I was presently surprised on how quickly they have decided that this is the best food ever. My two dogs are waiting impatiently when I am pouring out their food and will do a little jig if I take too long. So far, their digestion has been great and we have had not problems with the food.
