When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.

The Diet Nature Intended
They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.
Energy That Lasts
Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support
Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.
Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Perfectly Balanced Omegas
Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.
Ingredients for Better Health
The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.
TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.
BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.
RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

Great food
By Mickey on Dec 30, 2020
We have bought this brand of food for several years now for our 5 year old Lab and now we buy the puppy brand for our now 8 month old Lab. Our 5 year old had allergy issues with poultry based foods, as many Labs do, and so we switched her to the Lamb and Rice formula and that reduced her issues significantly. When we go our new pup she was on a chicken based product also and we got her off that ASAP and went with the Taste of the Wild puppy. It's a smaller kibble and I wish it came in Lamb and Rice also so that when we transition her to adult food there would be a chance of fewer issues. I'd prefer to have them on the same food so I don't have to order different flavors for each dog. She loves this food!
By Lyss on Jan 16, 2021
I decided to give this food a try because of its natural ingredients (no “byproduct” as the first listed ingredient), and I must say, it’s a hit! Winnie gets so excited when it’s time to eat, and all but runs to her food bowl. I’m so glad she loves it, and it’s good for her as well!

My King Charles has had many stomach issues. We've been on prescription dog food for a year. I decided to try this. He loves it and no stomach problems!

Our border collie has digestive issues with poultry. She loves this stuff and it's poultry free. Also surprisingly affordable considering the alternatives.

Taste of the wild
By Duke on Dec 26, 2020
My senior dogs liked this dog food but my Vet recommended to switch because she said the grain free causes heart issues. Now I need to figure out what other dry food to buy. I tried pro plan dry and they will not eat it. It causes stomach upset

Low calorie
By JohnnyBoy on Dec 2, 2020
I bought this food because it is low calorie without sacrificing good nutrition. My beagle loves it and his stools are great. The ingredients are all good and healthy. I can cook my own brown rice if I think he needs some grains as this is grain free. Lamb is the main ingredient with vegetables and pro biotics.

Dogs like it, but egg is second protein source
By BettyL on Nov 24, 2020
Our dogs like it well enough, but we are dealing with allergies so we are limiting protein sources. Egg is second on the ingredients list and our pup was still itchy eating this so we are opting to go with TOTW Pacific Stream instead. I hope this works out...TOTW has good food for decent prices. If not, we may just have to make our own food or do raw.
