Transition Instructions
When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.
Learn More About Taste of the Wild From Our Team of Experts
They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.
Energy That Lasts
Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.
Immune System Support
Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.
Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.
Perfectly Balanced Omegas
Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.
Ingredients for Better Health
The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.
TOMATOES AND TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.
BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.
RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

We were giving the dogs the Bison and Venison Taste of the Wild for several years and they liked it. They are old dogs now and I needed to find a food that they would eat more of and I decided to give this flavor a try since it was 5 Star. Their flavor was rated 4.5 Star. They are actually eating more of their food now! This will be a permenant switch.

Not what we usually order
When I went to order our usual Taste of the Wild - Pine Forest Grain, it was unavailable. So we ordered the Sierra Mountain Grain. So far it is ok, but my dog is older and does best of the Pine Forest Grain. Dissapointed.

Picky dog finally eating
We've tried a lot of fancy human grade foods... Farmers Dog, Stella Chewy, Sundays, list goes on.... my dog is even refusing home-cooked food of chicken and rice at this point! Got me thinking something might be wrong... But then when I offer my dog cat food he eats it all, and poops and pees, so clearly he's fine. I decided to google what dog food tastes like cat food (lol) and found this. I bought it and the first pet to eat this food was my cat (lol). Then my picky dog waited a couple hours and went to town on it! So far so good. :)

No reasonable way to cancel orders
Chewy makes it impossible to figure out how to cancel a shipment on their site. I’ve tried three times to figure it out, and I’m at an hour plus of time, next I’ll be googling it. Beyond annoying. Dysfunction by design! No thanks!

Got our dog sick
We have always purchased this brand our lab ate it with no issues, but with our recent purchase she has been throwing up and refusing to eat her food. Not sure if the formula has changed or we received a bad batch but we will not continue to purchase this brand.
