Puppies: Feed up to two times the recommended adult feeding amount by body weight. As your puppy gets older, gradually decrease the amounts to near adult amounts.
When changing to Taste of the Wild, we recommend making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days to help avoid possible digestive upset in sensitive pets. Add a small amount of new food to your dog’s previous diet, gradually increasing the new and decreasing the previous diet until the transition is complete.
My three doggos love this! We had originally gotten it to add to our senior pupper's food to make sure she was getting enough to eat, but we add just a pinch to the other two's dinners as well and they all go crazy for it!
Our dogs loved this brand and we have been feeding them it for the past 5 years , but now that prices have climbed so high per can we will have to find a less expensive alternative
Fed this to my Akita girl and she loved it! She looked forward to breakfast and dinner when I mixed it into her dry food.
I only gave this one star not because there's a problem with this food but because my dog won't eat wet food. Her dry food I have to put in a Kong toy. She rolls this around and eats this way so I'm filling this toy up 3 or 4 times a day. I keep trying different brands of wet food and only when she's really hungry will she eat it. This is getting to be expensive. She's healthy and her weight stays at around 60#. I'm at a loss as what to do.
Luna loves TOTW wet food and has been eating it for years. Unfortunately it disappeared for 6 months and just came back with a 50% price hike. The bison must have went on strike and negotiated a new CBA. Will need to look for a new cost appropriate option.
My dogs love taste of the wild as kibble and moist
Do NOT buy this for your dogs. I tried 3 times sharing one can among my two large dogs. I thought I perhaps needed to slowly introduce them to this wet food. And my dogs were horribly sick with diarrhea every time and vomiting the final time. I beg you not to risk giving this to your dogs.
My picky little boy, an 11lbs chihuahua refused to eat anything designed for “dogs” before we discovered Taste of the Wild. We first tried the fish one , and although sometimes he did not feel much for it , since it doesn’t have the taste of real “cat” food, he eats it (he is still unsure whether he is human, or one of those other fluffy things in the house) I was a bit hesitant to get this meaty one after reading some comments, but I was not going for another brand. So, we tried it ( well, he did) and surprise: he loved it! Mixed with a few kibble pieces, or dried veggies, or even better: plain from the can! Of course his preference is for me to microwave the contents of his bowl for a few seconds, because we’ve heard this increases the flavor and makes it more like “comfort food” The can is plentiful full of meat and some peas and potatoes ( for what I get to see) and the gravy -he says- is tasty! Oh so tasty! That even his fluffy friends like. Anyway, his vet is happy, my pup is happy and I am happy. Make yourself and your pup happy too, and buy this stuff. I’m sorry by the way, truly sorry for the bisons who gave their life for the creation of this can content in order to make pups happy, but I hope they come from legally and farm raised animals Peace!
We started to do a slow transition over to TOW Southwest Canyon. All six of our dogs went crazy for the tablespoon that was added to their usual meal. They all loved it. Later that day four of them had intestinal issues. Maybe the wild boar, a listed ingredient, was a bit too rich for them. TIP: Read the ingredients from Chewy's "Nutritional Info" tab on the product description before you buy.
Our dogs loved it, we have tried a couple of the blends of the Taste of the Wild and our little Chi’s have liked them both.
