About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

The Diet Nature Intended

The Diet Nature Intended

They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.

Energy That Lasts

Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.

Immune System Support

Immune System Support

Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption

To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.

Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Perfectly Balanced Omegas

Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.

Ingredients for Better Health

The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.

TOMATOES and TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.

BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.

  • There is none better!

My English Bulldog takes eating very seriously. Tried one other brand of food and he was getting very bad tear stains under his eyes that we couldn't clean. Once I switched his food to TOTW, total transformation. Eyes are completely clear. I mix the Wetlands canned with the Pine Forrest dry food. His toenails begin to grow 2 or 3 three times faster than they did previously. His stools are perfect and he's much less gassy. Can't speak highly enough about Taste of the Wild! It's awesome.

  • The only can food my lab will eat!

    By on

When my vet prescribed half canned dog food and half dry to treat a health issue, I panicked. My lab has never liked canned food. She devours this and now leaves her dry food until she is convinced she isn't getting anything else. It is like a BIG treat. Her health has improved and she now eats on a regular schedule! Win,win....

  • Great Dog Food!

    By on

I have used this brand since discovering that it has a 5 star rating with Dog Food Advisor and my dog loves it! Switched recently to the Fowl type instead of the beef but only due to my dog's sensitive stomach. She loves it and dances when I put it down for her to eat!

My vet recommended Taste of the Wild products and my dogs love them. Since this one is a stew, it just takes a little bit to mix in and make dry food taste better.

  • Picky Eater Approved!

Of all of our pets, Scooby is the pickiest. She loves treats and to steal table food so her dry food habits are terrible. Luckily, she is not as picky when it comes to treats. I have bought a few kinds of canned wet dog food in the past that she turned her nose up to, though, so I am always nervous as to what the results are going to be with her when it comes to even treats. Well, thankfully, this brand was an absolute hit with her! I love the easy pop tops to I can get it opened quickly. Once opened, the food appeared almost like human food - chunky and in nice gravy sauce. I love this style much better than the pate, as does Scooby. Once opened, the food appeared almost like human food - chunky and in nice gravy sauce. I love this style much better than the pate, as does Scooby. For me, pate is a pain in the tushy to get out the can and requires utensils to scoop it out. This particular style just pours right out into her bowl with no issues. As soon as I got it in the bowl Scooby could barely sit and wait. She was whimpering and shaking her butt from her tail wagging so hard. she then gobbled it down as if she hadn't eaten in months! By the time she was done I swear that bowl looked cleaner than when I wash it in the dishwasher! Needless to say, this was a HUGE hit with Scooby as well as me as the pet parent. It was easy to get out, no nasty odor, and the fact it is grain free is quite the bonus. We definitely can recommend this one - even to picky eaters! … more

All of my huskies love this brand and flavor! I've tried several top name brand dog foods and TOTW worked out wonderfully. My one husky with stomach issues has had no problems. Highly recommend!

  • Very tasty-according to the dogs!

    By on

I like the chunks of meat, in gravy. Dogs get a spoonful on top of the Taste of the Wild-Wetlands dry food. Great Pyrenees, Frankie, age four; inhales the food, burps and then waits to see in Danny Boy, the Cocker Spaniel, age 10; is going to leave anything in his bowl. Frankie has allergies and we have him on a grain-free diet, so both dogs have gone grain free.
