    They all love these treats!

By CatLadyMellie on Nov 17, 2021

I have a happy household of 6 cats, and my one oldest and one youngest are super picky when it comes to treats. I don't usually give them temptations, but when I found the holiday ones I just had to get them. So cute. Glad I did because they all love them! I didn't get the humor and misunderstood what these were

By Jill on Oct 10, 2021

Okay, so I feel kind of stupid about buying these. I think my mind filled in the blank following "Tasty Human" with the word "Grade" before the reference to "chicken, liver, & beef." I also missed the word at the end: "flavors," suggesting it's not really meat at all. Truth is that I've been finding Okay, so I feel kind of stupid about buying these. I think my mind filled in the blank following "Tasty Human" with the word "Grade" before the reference to "chicken, liver, & beef." I also missed the word at the end: "flavors," suggesting it's not really meat at all. Truth is that I've been finding it very hard to find my cats' favorite treats, the Natural Yums, at least at any reasonable price. The ingredients are really better in those than in their first cousins, the Party Mixers. I'd glanced at these and thought, oh, something new and better that Temptations is trying with real human grade meats. I should have looked at the ingredients first. That's on me that I didn't. If I had, I would have realized this is just the same old thing with by products and corn. The same stuff that most of my cats never really liked to begin with. After getting the box, I've realized this was an attempt by the Mars company to be humorous. Maybe they should stick to candy bars for trick or treaters if that's the same company. On the back of their box they mention that the wild and larger ancestors of domestic cats might have eaten us, hence, the reference to "tasty human[s]." We have cougars in our areas nearing homes, and they always seem to be getting the blame for any attacks on pets and people, so I'm not sure how funny I think this suggestion really is. Add to this that the company has illustrated both back and front of the box with a trash can full of human body parts and a cat looking over, licking his chops, and I think that this borders on rather offensive. This is not to say that I don't ever watch horror movies and that I don't have any sense of humor. I would like to think, however, that if I suddenly died that my cats would not be in such a rush to consume me. I guess the idea is that if you surround yourself with a barrier of "temptations" they will not tear the meat from your limbs. But be aware, there is no real meat in these. This whole Halloween campaign appears quite confusing to me. Maybe the not getting it from the beginning is just me. But I will say that my brood of felines think little of these treats, and I think even less of the nutritional value of these which is nil. These are the same old "temptations" dressed up for Halloween with nothing really new to offer. … more
