So far this food is in 1st place with my dogs system. No allergic reactions and shiny coat keep me coming back for more. It’s pricey though. Had to find a cheaper wet but he’s not doing as well. But going to order more t&t.
My dog only seems to like fish flavored foods but hasn’t seemed to enjoy this one very much. She is a very picky eater so it’s always a gamble to try something new and not a huge surprise when she doesn’t like it. However, I’ve now found two pieces of plastic as I was taking food out of the can - first a piece of green plastic and second, a blue piece that I took a picture of. Not sure if this is a known problem but based on my experience finding plastic in 2 separate cans, I would be careful with this brand and likely won’t order it again.
My foster dog, a Cane Corso and my pitbull absolutely love this food. I alternate it between their Canidae canned food. The Canidae salmon and sweet potato canned food is thicker than Tender and True but Tender and True is a bit cheaper. My only dislike is that the consistency is pretty light and airy in comparison but hey, they absolutely love it! Their coats are shiny and muscles are lean and it’s a staple in our household. I’d recommend this variety if your dog needs a salmon protein diet and you’re considering trying it :)
Our beagle, Rio is thriving on this food.
My dog is allergic to everything. Especially chicken. She had bald spots all over, constant itching and chewing paws. Recurring skin infections, just miserable. I’m so thankful I found this food. I was looking for limited ingredients with Salmon and this fit. If you read labels, you’ll see most food contains chicken in some form. Even if it is fish based. I bough this in dry and can and mix them together. She eats it without leaving any behind. All of her other foods, she would pick at and leave most for me to throw away later. I would definitely recommend this for other pet parents who have babies who suffer from allergies.
In our quest to find grain free food for our 3 year old German Shepard, I ordered the Tender & True Salmon & Sweet Potato wet foot. My dog took one sniff and walked away. She is a very picky eater but usually loves salmon.
Although this product might be great for some dogs, mine puts his nose up to it and does not want to eat.
I have no doubt this is high quality, healthy food but we're not thrilled over the odor and my fur baby's constant burping. My dog's breath smells now and the food itself is stinky dishing it up. But it's fish, so that is to be expected. I had to choose this food as a temporary autoship order, since they were out of her regular, limited diet: lamb and sweet potatoes by American Journey (I think it's absolutely the best food I've encountered in 40 years!) Anyway, my golden likes the salmon okay, but not as thrilled with it as her lamb and sweet potatoes. I have also noticed the past two weeks that she burps A LOT. And it stinks. Phew! I think all of us will be happy for her return to his regular cuisine. Meanwhile, it's been an okay substitution for my baby with sensitive stomach issues.
Our dogs LOVE this food. We have been purchasing this Salmon for a couple of months now. Our dogs have numerous allergies. This salmon helps a lot when they have a flare up with their skin. So happy this is offered by Chewy. THANKS
I switched to a salmon base, as I wanted to get away from chicken. She seems to be doing well with it.
