Help keep your finned friend’s comfortable with Tetra’s HT55 Submersible Aquarium Heater & Electric Thermostat. This submersible heater comes with an electric thermostat that is specifically designed to keep 40 to 55-gallon aquariums at a constant 78 degrees Fahrenheit. • Install it vertically or horizontally to help conceal it behind plants or other décor.
  • Comes with indicator lights to let you know when it's heating (red) or on standby (green).
  • Specially designed for aquariums that hold between 40-55 gallons of water.

    Defective no green/red light

    By on

Price was to good to be true.... I don’t know if I got a defective heater or if this was just one awful product over all. Very disappointed in tetra, my heater never turned red or green at any moment. I’m glad I had a back up 100W heater from aqueon which gave me enough time to go to my local pet store to purchase a 200w! My fishes would have probably died if I hadn’t notice this wasn’t working the minute I realized my temp was dropping drastically. I should have read the reviews on this same product but different WATT, if you realize majority of the other reviews are pretty much saying the same thing that happened to me.

    Works just fine

    By on

Was concerned with a preprogrammed heater but seems to be working just fine for my turtle. Would like to see one not made of glass though.

    Survived a potential disaster

    By on

I use this heater to keep my turtle's water near 78 degrees and it works well even though it is in the filter sump rather than the actual tank. The sump pumped itself dry when the outlet to the sump got clogged. I thought I had lost the heater only a week after buying it. Amazingly it STILL WORKS. It didn't break or burn up. Thanks for the high quality dependable design.

    Temp stays @ 78 degrees

    By on

Very pleased with Thermostat. The temperature is staying at 78 degrees as stated it would. Like that it is submersible and I can do water changes without disconnecting the heater. 1st time my tank water is staying at the same temp without it being too high.or too low and constantly readjusting the thermostat!

    Worked 2 days

    By on

I am giving it a two only because it worked for two days. Then the lights started cycling and the water in my tank went down to 71 degrees.
