Worked great. In less then 1 week ick was gone. Needed to use described 1/2 dose because of scaleless fish. Still worked, didn't harm sensitive fish when used properly with water changes. Very happy

Waste of Money
By tbird on May 18, 2020
I used this according to the directions. Took out the filter (charcoal) and cleaned as described. Didn't do anything but stain my tank and heater. All my fish died from ick except one. I didn't want to give up and used the whole box and didn't work. Switched to API super ick and that seemed to help my last survivor. Don't buy if you want to keep your fish.

Saved my Betta’s life
By Jordan on Jun 3, 2019
I have a 10 gallon, heavily planted tank that contains just one Betta. When I came home from a five day vacation, I was horrified to see my Betta was COVERED in Ich. I rushed to get him medicine after turning the heat in his tank to 86 degrees. I liked that this medicine was in tablet form as it prevents overdosing. I waited until the next day to put in a tablet as the heat being turned up speeds up Ich’s lifecycle. After dosing the tank, ten hours later my Betta only had a few spots left on him. I did a 25% water change two days later and pre-soaked half a dose into his clean water and poured it in the tank. I waited two more days and did a 50% water change and added a pre-soaked full dose I have a 10 gallon, heavily planted tank that contains just one Betta. I waited two more days and did a 50% water change and added a pre-soaked full dose into his clean water and poured it in the tank. Another two days later, I did another 50% water change, put in a new carbon filter and put in normal conditioned water back into the tank. His spots were completely gone after the first dose and the half dose, but I wanted to be completely sure I got everything by adding in the extra third dose. (Ich can live unseen within the tank, even after the spots are cleared from the fish.) During a week, I used a total of 2.5 doses with four water changes. During my Betta’s “recovery week,” I left the heat at 84 degrees and treated the water with Melafix. While my Betta was sick, his fins and tails were practically destroyed by the sickness and I added in his Melafix treatment to help him heal. (And to eliminate fin rot if that was potentially developed due to his weakened immune system.) I can say the directions are vague as far as re-dosing goes. It did not say if it was safe to re-dose everyday, or if a water change was needed for it to be safe, etc. That’s why I waited 48 hours in between doses and made the second dose not as strong. You must do a 25% water change in between doses or else you will overdose the tank. My Betta was extremely lethargic during the treatment. He disappeared for hours and slept a lot. I thought it was the end for him as I figured I caught the Ich too late. On day five of the treatment he was back to his normal self. Overall, I can say this: the plants were not harmed after 2.5 doses. The medicine was incredibly fast acting. It stains items blue UNLESS you pre-soak the tablet and pour the treated water into the tank. Do as many water changes as possible during the treatment so you can vacuum up any Ich lingering in the gravel. It has been exactly 13 days since I first spotted the Ich, and five days since I stopped the Ick Guard treatment and there are no signs of it coming back. There is still a chance it could happen, but as of now we are in the clear and it is looking hopeful. This stuff saved my Betta’s life. … more

IckGuard Success
By Koda on Apr 24, 2017
I added in the prescribed amount of IckGuard and the tank was cleaned by morning. The one remaining Gourami lived through the treatment, and is now healthy. I've since added 2 more fish and a pleco...all are healthy. thanks!!!
