Wanted to love this. Perfect size and I prefer the square shape. Not even two weeks and the filter isn’t working AND the tank is leaking. Extremely disappointed
Don't waste your money, leaks and is made out of cheap plastic
Mine had a cracked lid but besides that it is perfect, everything works and doesn't leak. It is pretty light weight and that is helpful for me.
I ordered two of these tanks a few weeks ago for my new house. I went to set them up long before the move so they could hopefully cycle by the time I’m ready for fish to be moved into them. They looked great when I first set them up, but when I got back a day later there was water all over my floor. I assumed it was a leak since I hadn’t checked if they held water before I set them up. I emailed chewy, and since they’re amazing, they sent me two more. They got here within two days, and I had filled both of them with water and left them for two days before I actually set them up to make sure they didn’t leak. Everything was great so I added the decor, got the filter and heater set up etc. luckily for myself I went back again the next day to double check they hadnt leaked. When I walked in and saw water all over the floor I almost screamed. After some further investigation I finally realized that the filter was overflowing out the back and that is what was causing the tanks to drain. So while I really recommend these tanks, and I think the price for this kit is super worth it, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend using this filter. But the tanks themselves are gorgeous rimless aquariums, especially for the price!
Love this tank, turn out fine. I have my PRL'S Shrimp in there, 10 in all. Tank is for relaxing and observations.
This tank is cheaper than others for a reason; the acrylic isn't fully clear and it warps just the tiniest bit under the pressure of water, but that should really be expected on the part of the consumer. Overall, this tank (while a bit flimsy) is functional. Both the light and filter that came with mine work perfectly. The filter is very gentle and has a small intake, making it pretty suitable for use with baby/juvenile aquatic creatures without having to make modifications. The filter also need not utilize cartridges as you can easily fill it with different filter media. I got this tank to use as a hospital/quarantine tank for one of my fish, and now that said fish has recovered and been moved back to my 20 gallon, I'm using this tank for my gravid ghost shrimp to release their young in. Since the filter is so gentle, the babies won't get blown around by the current as much and hopefully won't get sucked up into the intake as easily, if at all. Overall this tank would be good for: -Housing some types of aquatic creatures such as snails, shrimp, and small fish that stay small (you could probably keep a betta relatively easily in this); I'd stick to beginner friendly aquatic pets, especially inverts for this one -Temporary quarantining of some aquatic creatures such as smaller fish and inverts for medical treatment, breeding, and/or spawning -While it's nice that it comes with a filter, you could easily leave the filter out and repurpose it for something and use this tank for a terrarium instead of an aquarium What to avoid with this tank: -Permanently housing fish larger than 1-2 inches big (this tank is too small for that) -Permanently housing any creature that can/will try to escape; the lid for this tank has openings for the filter and feeding and it just rests on top of the tank. If a fish tried to jump out, it wouldn't be difficult at all for it to knock the lid off or escape out of one of the holes. Of course, if you modified the lid or got a different one, you could probably negate this issue -Using sharp, and/or heavy substrate, decorations, and certain cleaning devices like algae scrapers. Again, this tank is somewhat flimsy and made of plastics; the bottom stand part of the tank would not support heavy rocks/driftwood and other decorations, and items with sharp edges will scratch and compromise the acrylic. I filled my tank with sand, two small plastic decorations, and I'm trying some live plants in it at the moment, though I have no idea how long those will last lol.
Fish tanks leak constantly....almost lost both my bettas. Never figured out why this kept happening...turned the tanks into terriams and bought new tanks.
I have 4 of these and will be buying another one soon. My Betta love them.
I loved how simple it was to set up. Great for beginners as it comes with a filter and a light. Suitable for one beta fish, or for some shrimp. Does not include a heater, so be sure to add a small one! Just set it up, cycle it, and your ready to go. Simple & stylish.
The tank is made of all plastic & there is no cover for the feeder, I had to tape all sides down . Plus the lid remaines full of due and there is a large gap where the filter goes that I also had to tape over so my beta doesn't escape.
