What size pump is needed for this? Also will this work in a fountain?

It will definitely work in a fountain if the fountain is large enough and has an appropriate spot for it. It connects to a pump with ½” or ¾” tubing and you can use a variety of pumps with it. We recommend 250 gph to 400 gph normally, but if the set up is very small, you could use a smaller pump.
Does this need a separate air pump?

An air pump would need to be purchased separately. This uniquely designed spitter works with a variety of pumps and connects to 1/2" or 3/4" tubing.

Broken Bird

Water does not spit out of the beak of this bird. It leaks out of the holes where pieces are broken off. So it just sits as an ornament. I am very disappointed!

not quite up to the job

IT'S BEAUTIFUL AS GARDEN SCULPTURE BUT IT'S TOO SMALL TO WORK AS A POND SPITTER.
