    Did not work.

By Andrew on Jan 10, 2018

Unfortunately did not work for our Pyrenees mix. No difference in her stress or anxiety whatsoever. She doesn't mind wearing it though. Shirt quality is ok, the thickness of a heavy workout fabric. I was expecting more of a heavy jacket. Our dog is 93lb, and the usable area that goes under the rib cage is probably not large enough for her. The flap that goes over her hind area rolls up and serves no purpose as far as I can tell. The velcro that goes across the neck does not extend far enough into the attaching flap, causing the under flap to often pop out from underneath. Perhaps it is great if it works, but for our large dog there was no difference. Will seek to return if possible. … more

  • Fantastic and it works

I have a poodle who is terrified of falling off the back seat when travelling . She would shake, let out a high pitch whine and stare at the floor of the car, now that she wears thunder shirt she is calm and stopped looking down at the floor of the car. Also bought thunder leash, no more pulling, just slow walking.

These I bought were a gift for Christmas, so they have not been opened or tried on. With what I have been told was positive so that is why I bought them. I will know in a couple of weeks so I can not fairly rare them at this time. From what I was told I will rate them in that wzy.

  • Seems to help

    By on

It seems to help with the pacing and whining. One of our rescue dogs is generally a nervous fellow but I think this product has helped, not 100 percent but he does seem calmer. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because after a couple of weeks of constant use one of the seams gave way, but it was quickly repaired with a needle and thread. It’s worth a try!

  • Thundershirt

    By on

I purchased two of the Thundershirts for my Min. Schnauzer and Snorkie. I did try them on as the dogs are different sizes yet I felt small was the right size for both since they are adjustable. There aren't really any clear instructions for putting them on but I figured it out after a few tries. Haven't used them in any distressing weather yet to see if they work, fingers crossed that they do!

I use the Thundershirt on my chihuahua for thunderstorms, I can't believe how well it works.

  • thundershirt

Of course, since I bought the thundershirt, there has only been one thunderstorm! It did seem to help some, but will have to wait for more storms to see how it really works.

  • Good but not the same as it used to be

    By on

The material has changed. It used to be stretchier and thicker. Now, it feels more "cottony" and doesn't have much stretch in it. Hence the 4 star instead of 5. ThunderShirt still helps in reducing anxiety during thunderstorms (but doesn't completely take it away). My dog is EXTREMELY thunderphobic, so I have to do a combination of the ThunderShirt, ThunderSpray, soft piano (or new age) music and comforting.

  • Anxious pup seems better!!

    By on

Our seven month your old puppy just has some general anxiety, But really hates when we vacuum. After a few days of her wearing the vest without the vacuum running we decided to give it a try while Cleaning. And she actually seemed much calmer! She doesn't mind the vest at all plus it's cute.. PLUS it's super easy to put on.

  • ThunderShirt for giant dog

    By on

I have 115 lb newfoundland who is terrified of strangers. If he so much as sees someone he doesnt know he runs in the opposite direction. I love taking him places but it was really disheartning to take him to the store and have him be anxious. After getting the ThunderShirt and taking him to the store I noticed that he was more at ease. He still isnt approaching people but he was sniffing bags and taking treats from me which he never does. Its a win my book!

Worked for the excessive shaking Lucy, our Lab mix, encountered during the 4th of July fireworks in our neighborhood, however, she continued to pant excessively and tried to hide.
