Description

Thyro-Tabs are an oral prescription tablet that provides hormone replacement therapy in dogs and cats to treat the symptoms of hypothyroidism when thyroid production is lower than normal. Having a balanced amount of thyroid hormone is important in sustaining normal mental health and physical activity for your pets.

Uses

For replacement therapy for diminished thyroid function in dogs.

Possible Side Effects

When administered at an appropriate dose to pets requiring thyroid hormone replacement, there should not be any adverse effects associated with therapy.

Drug & Food Interactions

Interactions may occur with other medications including supplements, vitamins, estrogens, digoxin, warfarin, epinephrine, insulin or norepinephrine.

Precautions

Do not use in dogs with thyrotoxicosis or uncorrected adrenal insufficiency. Different brands of levothyroxine may not work the same. If the pills look different from the last filling, speak to your pharmacist or veterinarian. Do not use in animals with hyperthyroidism, a condition in which the body produces too much thyroid hormone. Tell your veterinarian if your pet could be pregnant, has been diagnosed with Addison's disease (hypoadrenocorticism) or has any heart problems.

Please note product may arrive in a Chewy Pharmacy vial, manufacturer packaging is shown for reference.

    Prescription medication

By Ruby on Jun 27, 2021

Chewy contacted my Vet promptly after I requested they fill a prescription for my dogs thyroid medication. Her medication was delivered today by FedEx on a Sunday!!! Prompt and muchly appreciated service that will save me a 2 1/2 drive to get her medication renewal. I’ve now requested “Autoship” so I don’t miss her medication renewals. Awesome service-thank you!!

Arthritis? Prescription bottle lids are horrible!

By PMBigDogLover on Mar 13, 2021

Chewy RX refuses to supply lids compatible with ease of use for disabilities such as arthritis. Have to move my pet’s prescriptions to another service so I can open the lids.

    GREAT SERVICE

    By RosiePosie2019 on Dec 11, 2020 top1000Contributor

This makes my life better. Went on this, stopped pottying on the rug n my bed. I have to go out side a lot after taking it, but that is normal for this med. Delivery is fast and I never had problems with the order. She changed from another company as soon as the prescription expired. The other company gave her the I just want your money feeling n attitude and she doesn't do well with those companies. Chewy has NEVER made her feel like that.

Same as the vet and due to COVID there may be a slight delay

    By dschott10 on Oct 23, 2020

This is indeed the same medication I got from my vet and is the same strength. Due to COVID-19 there may be a few days delay so plan ahead. Price is great.

    HORRIBLE service!

    By 1111 on Sep 28, 2020

Horrible service! People do not know what they are doing. One person says one thing, another person says another thing. Do not use Chewys for prescription medicine. My dogs have waited a week and nobody contacted me. They leave you hanging at “pending”. I’ll be cancelling my long time auto ship for dog food as well due to this!

    Excellent service!

By Karen on Oct 12, 2020

The order shipped quickly at far less cost than the Vets. I wish the Vets were more reasonable with their charges.

    Works great, love Chewy!

By Tara on Feb 21, 2020

I always buy my dog's thyroid medicine through chewy, it's so easy and the best price I could find anywhere. I've been buying it for over a year now and never had any problems. Recently the package went missing. Contacted Chewy and they went above and beyond to make it right. Highly recommend

Isn't as effective as medicine from our vet

By Hannah on Feb 5, 2020

I love using Chewy for food and toys for our dogs and I decided to try this medicine for my dog who has a thyroid deficiency. After a month of using it versus the medicine from the vet, he has developed patchy spots in his skin and has been lethargic, leading me to believe that it is not working well.
