If I normally buy my regular clumping litter in 40lb bags, how much of this will I need to get the same amount of litter volume-wise?

This litter is over 50% lighter. The 8.5 pound jug equals 20 pounds of leading clumping litters. The 12 pound pail equals 27 pound of leading clumping litters and the 17 pound pail equals 35 pounds of leading clumping litters.
Is this plastic pail recyclable? Seems like a huge waste of plastic.

Tidy Cats litter contains sodium bentonite, perlite, and charcoal in it. The lightweight core used in their LightWeight litter is composed of perlite. It is safe to use in consumer products or food. Scooping litters commonly contain Sodium Bentonite, but rest assured, all of Tidy Cats litter is non-toxic, as such, there are no ingredients that are harmful to people or pets. Tidy Cats conduct extensive testing of their litter products, including for dust, and a safety review by a veterinary toxicologist of all materials used in the manufacturing process.

Lightweight, YES! 99%Dustfree, NO!

So this litter is Indeed lightweight, which is super important for the method I use to clean 6 huge pans fast. But it is FAR from 99% dust free. It might be 5% dust free folks. Just saying.. I'll continue buying it until I can find a lightweight much less dusty product. So dusty I have to wear a mask and keep everything covered or in containers to protect it. Keep you and your cats happy and healthy! That's my goal.

Tracks a lot

I really wanted this to work as I thought I would no longer need to carry heavy boxes and hard to lift bags up to the second floor into the litter room, but it tracks a lot. Also it did not absorb urine quickly enough and got onto the cats hind feet before getting out of the litterbox which made a big mess with white kitty footprints around the house..

Awesome litter

We have 2 TNR kitties that live in our work building. They started as feral, but we've loved them into sweet kitties. This litter is fantastic, it's not heavy, it clumps well, and when we forget the scooping duty, it doesn't stink to high heaven - so we know it's absorbancy is good!

Best litter ever

This litter has no scent, I am amazed! I switched from Tidy Cats 24/7 because I am not a fan of the perfume smell. This lightweight unscented litter really does the trick of trapping the cat business odor with no perfume. And my litter trapping mat does a better job of catching this stuff too. Scooping was easier because it is lightweight and I felt like it clumped better than the 24/7 kind.

Dusty and tracks everywhere!

I love the regular ones so I thought I would try the lightweight ones. It was a big mistake! Pro: - Lightweight. Easy to pour and carry. - Odor control. Great for controlling smells. Cons: - Dusty. There was dust everywhere in my apartment and the dust stick onto my cats' fur and I have to constantly wipe them with a damp towel. I have to hold my breath when dumping and cleaning the littler cause just by looking at it, dust just starts flying. - Tracks everywhere. Since it's mostly made of clay dust, the litter tracks everywhere and leaves a white cast residue on the floor. I have to mop the floor every other day. I didn't finish the whole box and just threw the rest into the trash cause that's where it belongs - TRASH! I wouldn't even want to give this to my worst enemy. If you are thinking about getting this one cause you like the regular one... nope! Don't waste your money. Just consider it an arm workout when you carry those bails.

BEST Litter for Bad Smells

While I initially thought that litter had to be scented in order to mask the terrible odor it comes to harbor, this unscented litter is my absolute favorite! The air just smells clean, even after my cats have used it - and that says a lot! It is soft on their paws, clumps very well, and though it does not countermeasure my messy cat (he is a hopper) the lack of smell is absolutely astonishing! I honestly cannot say enough about it, it is just GOOD LITTER!

Best Litter

Not sure I got the right thing. I thought I was getting 2 of the containers with handles pictured here. I got a box with a plastic bag filled with litter. I am 72 and have arthritis in my hands. The handled containers are much easier to handle. The plastic bag is awkward.

Was it lightweight? Yes. Used it for 2 months.However it turns to dust. Yes the litter turns to dust. It also tracks everywhere! My poor kitty is constantly grooming her paws to get the litter out. And, she unfortunately the litter will get “caught up” and stick in her hindquarters hair. She HATES that. So we are back to the natural and are happy.

This is by far the worse cat litter I have r en used. I bought it to replace another brand I was using because it made too much dust. I went away for 4 weeks and bought this so my daughter didn’t have to deal with heavy litter. When I got home my entire apartment was covered in litter and there was white spots all over the hardwood floors from their feet being wet after using the litter box. The litter was in my bed, on my couch, just everywhere. I ordered a different litter that was not a light weight one, and threw out the rest of this. I finally finished cleaning everything in my house and disinfecting it.

Cats and my favorite litter!

The best stuff! Clumps hard, tackles smell well, and love that it is lightweight. I am so relieved to get this via auto-ship as grocery stores have either closed near me or do not carry litter. Brilliant product.
