This is...meh. For $23, I expected something a bit sturdier, not something that falls apart the moment our cats use it. Catwise, our oldest boy (Faramir) squeezed right in the moment he saw it, but cats do that with any box -- he's a normal size cat, about 12lbs, and this thing couldn't even handle first contact, with a cat simply doing what the thing is supposed to be designed to do! It doesn't hold together & doesn't stand up to any use. There's no "floor" -- the house part just fits loosely over the scratcher floor, without anything keeping the house & floor pieces connected. Seriously -- the Chewy shipping box was sturdier than this thing. You could buy a few of the regular cardboard scratcher boards & use them to line the bottom of the Chewy shipping box, and you'd have a cheaper & **sturdier** cat house than this thing.
In the pics, the (empty) piece is what happened after our littlest cat, Shell, used it. Faramir came in as I was taking the pic & squeezed in..and you see the result. About the only good thing I can say about this product is that its box converts to a puzzle box with a couple fuzzy toys inside, which our kitties have enjoyed, but that's just an unadvertised extra, not what we'd paid for. "Tiger Tough" is no such thing.… more

My cats are wild about this scratch pad. One cat likes to sit inside and peek out the windows (a great touch). Another loves the box that it comes in with punch out discs. I only wish the tabs holding it together did a better job. I stabled the tabs to the house but it was difficult. Also having a base instead of just the house on top of the pad would be better.
Can be reinforced with tape to be sturdier

My cat is too large to get inside. But, he loved the extra busy box and toys that are produced from the “throwaway” cardboard parts. And, from his curiosity and interest, I’d say he very likely would use the house if bigger. I imagine one can use tape on the sides and corners to reinforce the flimsy cardboard tabs that hold it together. I’m donating it to a cat foster with smaller cats. Love the way it is eco friendly and produces so many toys from even the packaging.
Good, but could be better

My cat loves this, maybe a little too much. She’s knocked the roof off the walls and the house off the base quite a lot, plus she chewed straight through the string that held the cardboard bird so it dangled. Would love to see several sheets of cardboard balls I could put together for her though, she really loves it.
Cats love it!!!

I got the house and my cats who never play with any cat things loved it. When I put it together I used packing tape over the cardboard tabs and it worked purrfectly. I have 4 cats and 3 have tried it and loved it. I may have to buy another one to avoid cat fights.
Worth every penny! LOL

Worth every penny...my 4 cats love this. Especially Boo. He literally lives in it during hot days! It’s just cardboard with a corrugated bottom for scratcher. The little birdie lasted 3 seconds but they had fun with it!
My Cats Fight Over This!!!

I wasn't sure if my two girls would like this, but I knew they like boxes. It's hilarious, one goes in and won't let the other one in. When I can't find one of them, I now take a peek inside! This little house is never vacant!
Tiger tough gingerbread house is definitely not “tiger tough”

This is basically a cardboard box. I hav two kittens and this was destroyed within 10 days. The scratcher is ok (the floor of it) but the rest is flimsy.

The house fell apart rather quickly. Have to tape it together so when my cats go inside and lean against the wall, it won't co e apart. For the price, it should be better construction.
if he likes it, it wont last long
on Jul 22, 2020
my cat liked the house feature, which meant that it didn't last very long. it doesn't stay together very well either and the top just sits over the bottom, they do not connect together.
