The best way to transition to a new food is to switch gradually over the course of 7-10 days. For example, make a mixture that contains 25% of the new food and 75% of the old food and feed that for three days. Then make it 50-50 for three more days, then 75% new food and 25% old food for three more days. If your cat seems comfortable with this progression, you can start feeding 100% new food. If at any time your pet starts vomiting, has loose stools, or appears constipated, slow the rate at which you are switching the food. If problems continue to occur, consult your veterinarian.
My almost 3 year old cat, would eat nothing but his kitten food. Every can of food I bought other than his kitten food he would NEVER even try. He acted like I was trying to poison him. My last trip to the pet store I picked up thisTiki Cat. I didn't have much hope. I put out a dish of his kitten food and a dish of Tiki Cat. Walked out of the room, when I came back the food was gone. I was shocked to say the least. We are both very happy with this food. I happy to have my boy on a healthier food.
My cat would not eat this and just stand in front of the bowl and yell for something else
This is a very good high protein food for cats. I got several different flavors, based on a list I got from my vet. My cat eats this as soon as I put down her food and there is usually nothing left.
It's the perfect ingredients but maybe he just doesn't like ahi tuna.
I purchased this item to help prevent diabetes in my two cats. When I opened the cans it smelt wonderful so I was so excited. It was very moist and came out of the can easily. They both scratched on the floor and acted like they were trying to bury it. I figured when they got hungry enough they would eat it....NOPE.
I didn't want to assign stars because I felt it would be unfair to do so. It's always odd when I'm asked to review a cat food. I haven't tried it and sometimes not all of my cats like a particular flavor. That was the case with this one, only 2 out of my 4 approved so 2 stars for the 2 that liked it and 1 star because Tiki Cat is my preferred brand. I've been purchasing Tiki Cat cat food for my cats for a few years now. I chose the brand because of the grain-free options, it has mostly ingredients I recognize with a focus on giving my cats the vitamins they need and the flavors my cats have been loyal to look like real food.
So sorry to say that my animals did not like this product at all and I will not be purchasing it again. I have had better luck with other purchases and will be using Chewy again for other purchase, just won't be getting this again.
I wish all 4 of my cats would eat this but only 2 will and they LOVE it. It's one of the better foods out there with no thickening agents like carageenan or guar gum etc. but it only applies to certain Tiki Cat food so read the label. I'm hoping one day my other 2 will eat it. I tried 2 other flavors of this and they were also a huge hit. It is a bit more expensive but for me it's worth it.
It must be good for my cat because she is a little particular in eating. it smells good so its not offensive to me but some cat food smells awful. One thing I looked for was the ingredients and what effect it would have on my cat!
Several of the cans opened in shipping, smearing cat food all over the inside of the box and on the other cans in the shipment.
