Recommendations vary greatly, based on your cat’s age, activity level and life stage. For Adult Cats: Feed approximately 2-3 pouches per day per 7 lbs. of body weight. For Kittens: offer food several times a day, feed up to twice this amount.
Pregnant or nursing cats may require two to four times their normal feeding.
Always provide access to clean, fresh water. Canned food should be changed at least twice daily in order to prevent spoilage. Serve at room temperature, and refrigerate any unused portion.
The best way to transition to a new food is to switch gradually over the course of 7-10 days. For example, make a mixture that contains 25% of the new food and 75% of the old food and feed that for three days. Then make it 50-50 for three more days, then 75% new food and 25% old food for three more days. If your cat seems comfortable with this progression, you can start feeding 100% new food. If at any time your pet starts vomiting, has loose stools, or appears constipated, slow the rate at which you are switching the food. If problems continue to occur, consult your veterinarian.
My cat is a picky eater but has always loved Inaba churu treats. Ive been trying to find a wet food that he’s enthusiastic about. Velvet mousse is PERFECT for my cat because it is the same texture as inaba churu. He will eat half of it straight out of the package from my hand. That’s a big deal for my finicky eater. I will be repurchasing this and trying other flavors. I only dream that tiki cat was cheaper but I still love this food.
My cat loves this food. It's also great for "hiding" medication in because he eats it without a second thought.
This one is one of their favorites. We are finally down to the few they really like and this is way up there. They are so finicky! The queen divas.
My boy Grady, who usually likes chicken, would not have anything to do with this food. He sniffed it, licked it once, then walked away. Still have 10 pouches that won't be used. :(
My Patsy has developing renal issues and has numerous allergies to food. I purchased this to see if she would eat it. . .and she loves it! I would recommend this to anyone whose cat is a finicky eater or who has dietary issues.
This is like a giant dose of churu in terms of consistency. I HATE the packaging as it feels wasteful (non recyclable) but the product is good.
My two cats (11months old) love this mousse and they’re taking well for digestion. They’re having Tiki can (chicken with egg) for breakfast and the mousse for dinner.
This cat food caused a terrible diarrhea/infection to my three cats.
I have 3 male cats and none of them liked it. I have one who will eat whatever you put in front of him and any lefts over he can snag. Trying a different flavor fingers crossed.
It's all about the "but," isn't it? My sweet elderly cat, who is beginning to have trouble with all but very soft foods (there's hardly a tooth in his head anymore), mrrps piteously when I give him something he can't lap up easily. This, he can! It isn't so soft as to be a liquid, so he gets a real bite, but he can do it all without needing teeth and it doesn't hurt his gums. And he loves, loves, loves the chicken and egg flavor! I've tried mixing water with other foods to get a similar texture. It does not pass muster. No doubt he would eat that if he were very hungry, but he grows frail in his old age so I want him eating plenty. And he will nom all the Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse I care to give him! In light of all that, the drawbacks of cost and messiness were simply not enough to warrant knocking off a point. Five stars for making my boy happy!
