Diabetic-friendly, but packaging is awful!
This is one of the few wet foods my diabetic cat will eat, as he prefers pate or mousse consistency to the chunks in gravy style that seems to be most of the canned food options. The salmon flavor is his preference among the Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse varieties that are diabetic friendly. I’m taking off a star for the packaging, because the box this comes in is flimsy and typically falls apart trying to move it between the Chewy shipping box and the pantry. They are made highly collapsible and perforated for display on the shelf in pet stores, so it doesn’t take much for the outer packaging to collapse or tear. I’ve found individual foil packets floating around the Chewy box more than once, because the Tiki Cat boxes don’t hold up. The individual foil packets also have problems tearing open in a clean line, so then it’s hard to squeeze them out onto the cat’s dish. I’ve given up and resorted to scissors to cut them open instead.
AWESOME!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Tiki cat is the best! My cats go crazy for all the mouses and tiki dry.......I switch up also with the shredded tiki chicken! It is also low in carbs is what a stay with! High protein low carbs! or nooo carbs!..........Now two of my cats are hooked on the tiki canned after dark Pates! I do alot of rotation but stick with the same ingredients! another nice cat food is weruva but, tiki is number one! THANKU TIKI!
Niles is 13 yrs old and diagnosed pre diabetic. I switched to the prescription dry food but the prescription wet food was flaked and he didn't like it because he is a licker type eater. He loss weight and wasn't interested in eating so Tiki Cat Mousse, grain free, was recommended. He loves it and waits eagerly by his bowl now.
darn you tiki cat
In college here….don’t have a lot of mula…and my cat picks this food out of everything else on the market. As a kitten she liked the kitten pate food. But when I switched her to adult food she didn’t like it. I have one cat (2 years) who will eat anything but he won’t touch this mousse (which is fine with me). However my little girl, who is the runt of her liter…pushing 8 pounds at 2 years old….ONLY wants this mousse. She won’t even touch her kibble without the mousse. So now I HAVE to feed it to her. After she eats she comes and cuddles on my face as a thank you mom for feeding me gold. I’d say if your cat is not taking to anything , or if you want unlimited cuddles, give this mousse a try. She’s able to eat and go around and play without me worrying she’s going to get skinny. It’s unfortunately very expensive and I hope there will be a new one on the market or the company could lower the price of it. It seems to me that most of these reviews are good but I’m noticing that most of the kitties on here ONLY eat this mousse and won’t go back to other foods. So star down for the price.
Ideal alternative for older cats. My cat is toothless and this is perfect.
My 16 year old fur baby actually ate an entire serving of her "oh so stylish" Velvet Mousse. She has found the texture and taste that is inspiring her to enjoy her food again! A big relief to me!
Only wet food my old girl will eat!
I’m pretty sure this wild salmon food save my senior cat’s life. Her milliary dermatitis was getting so bad and she was hiding all the time. I had an appt at a specialist, but while waiting to get in, decided to feed this exclusively to reduce ingredients. Within a week, she came out of hiding. Within two weeks her skin was clear. It’s expensive, but better than going to the vet every six weeks for injections. To get the food out of the package easily, just hold the open pouch upside down above the bowl and roll down from the bottom. It easily empties the food into the dish with no mess.
Willa doesn’t eat wet food but she’s love this product.
The Only Food My Senior Cat Can Eat
My hyperthyroid almost toothless cat would not be alive without Tiki Cat Velvet Mousse. I am so thankful for this truly puréed food with lots of water. I don’t know how long we can sustain him going forward but for now loves this food and he doesn’t have to chew it. THANK YOU TIKI CAT!
Tiki Cat velvet Mousse
This is so expensive but my 20 yr old laps it up. I try to keep on hand for when she's sticking her nose up at what she's gotten. Will buy to keep on hand, for the reasons I have stated. Unless a news mousse comes out that is cheaper. And has her favorite, SALMON.
