Tiki Dog Aloha Petites Flavor Boosters are intended for intermittent or supplementary feeding only. For a boost of flavor and moisture, squeeze an entire pouch of Tiki Dog Aloha Petites Flavor Booster on top of your dog's complete and balanced food at each meal. Refrigerate unused portion and serve within 48 hours.
The best way to transition to a new food is to switch gradually over the course of 7-10 days. For example, make a mixture that contains 25% of the new food and 75% of the old food and feed that for three days. Then make it 50-50 for three more days, then 75% new food and 25% old food for three more days. If your dog seems comfortable with this progression, you can start feeding 100% new food. If at any time your pet starts vomiting, has loose stools, or appears constipated, slow the rate at which you are switching the food. If problems continue to occur, consult your veterinarian.
My Schnoodle has always been a picky eater. I found these and add one packet to one cup of her dry food morning and night. It’s just enough to coat her dry food and give it the flavor boost she likes.
The food is great, it smells delicious and fresh. It is the only food our finicky little dog eats. We tried everything from fresh to dry, from all the "best" lists. This is the only food that she food finish. Albeit, with some encouragement of a couple of pieces of chicken or fish. Lol
My large breed dogs enjoy these, but they aren't quite enough in one pouch to coat all the food in their bowls. They're the perfect amount to make pupsicles with
After our ancient poodle passed away, our cocker spaniel refused to eat dry kibble. I bought these because feeding her canned food daily was both costly and bad for her teeth. I found this to be a great compromise in that it adds some moisture and flavor to her kibble. She liked all the flavors except the tuna at first but now she likes that one too. Yes, the packages are small but it's the perfect amount to add to kibble. Think of this as a gravy treat to add to a regular diet. After a while using it every day, I have been able to use it more sparingly and she will happily eat the dry kibble even without the topper. She still prefers the toppers though and will sometimes go stand under the counter where we store them. Overall the pup and I are very happy with this product.
These pouches have the perfect amount in them for a small dog (Gummy Bear is 9 lbs). She's a big fan, and happily eats every morsel of her kibble with one of these mixed in as necessary (travel, needing food in her belly for medicine, etc.).
My little chi likes these but not all flavors.....
I’ve noticed a lot of the complaints are from people who don’t actually read what the product is. It works great, but some dogs don’t like it, others do. Just like not all people like the same food. The packets ARE small, yes, but they’re toppers. They aren’t made to drench your dogs food, just boost flavor. I feed my dog 2/3 cup of food in the morning and at night and these cover just fine, you just have to stir it around a bit. If you have a small dog and its “not covering their food”, you either are trying to slather their food in it, in which case just buy soft food OR you’re feeding your dog way too much. In terms of the packet complaints, either cut the bottom open or scoop the contents out. Its not rocket science.
I have two chihuahuas who are extremely picky!! Princess is 6 years old and Gigi is 3 months old. They both don’t eat their dry food unless it is mixed with any of these tiki dog flavor boosters!! I’m extremely surprised because I have tried everything and everything princess and this is what she has liked and so has Gigi!! After trying so many toppers for both of them to like they both ended up liking these!!! Especially the beef one!! 5/5 RECOMMENDED!!!
My dog likes this stuff BUT there is very little in each packet and even worse, half of it gets stuck in the bottom crease and is very hard to get out. Should be a simple packaging flaw to fix. Not worth the money or hassle because of it.
Getting all the product out of the pouch is the trick.
