Feeding Instructions

Chicken and Liver Luau is naturally formulated with added vitamins and minerals to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages. Feed your Adult Tiki Dog 1 can per 28 lbs of body weight per day. Feed up to twice the amount for puppies. Pregnant or nursing dogs may require 2 - 4 times the amount. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition to a new food is to switch gradually over the course of 7-10 days. For example, make a mixture that contains 25% of the new food and 75% of the old food and feed that for three days. Then make it 50-50 for three more days, then 75% new food and 25% old food for three more days. If your dog seems comfortable with this progression, you can start feeding 100% new food. If at any time your pet starts vomiting, has loose stools, or appears constipated, slow the rate at which you are switching the food. If problems continue to occur, consult your veterinarian.

    Simple and Clean

I really like Tiki Dog. My Zoey (Westie) is a pretty picky eater. Her favorite is chicken. For a long time, I had to buy packs of chicken parts and cook it myself. With this food which is a simply shredded chicken with chicken liver, with all the vites that a dog needs. Zoe eats it up. The cans are a good size, my pup can make two meals out of one can a day (some kibble to supplement in-between). It's very watery which I don't mind but some might think it's more like soup than meat. However, I don't mind it and Zoe laps up the juices happily. The food is a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. If you have a bigger dog it might be better used as just one meal thing with something else as a primary I really like Tiki Dog. All and all if you are looking for a simple wet food that actually looks and is what it claims to be, I highly recommend this brand, but it's whatever works best for your dog and yourself. … more

    I love this brand

This can IS watery, there is at least 40% of moisture in all their cans. But, the benefits out weigh the bad any day. 1 can is for every 28 lbs, that's the best ratio i could find among the can foods i was looking at. Because my dog seems to lack water, i actually like that there is more moisture, i even add MORE water to his food. The ingredients are simple so it helps since my dog has tuns of health issues and this doesn't flare anything up. It's one of the few to be 100% carbohydrate free, there is no glycemic index and it's free of artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. And on top of it all, it looks real and my dog loves it! I feed along with Ziwi Peak air dried dog food.

1 dog loves it, 1 dog won't eat it! LOL It looks and smells divine. Not sure why my little Chi won't eat it? But my other fur baby loves it!

    Quality Product

    By on

Pretty pricey for dog food, but decided to give it a try anyways. Once I opened the can understood why, it looked like chicken stew that I'd make for myself. Dogs (all 5 of them) loved it. Got me to thinking though, that I could make the same thing just by stewing down and deboning a whole chicken myself, saving the money and not having all the other non-natural ingredients. Could be wrong, need to cogitate on it a little.

    Great canned food

Although this is a more expensive canned food, I don't mind because it is all meat. No questionable ingredients and my dogs just love it. It looks human grade quality and smells good too.

    Great food!

I have a Shih-Tzu in moderate kidney failure. She needs to consume extra fluids...and this stuff is perfect as I can add more water to it. It is like a stew to begin with...plus it's just meat and broth...so I can also add veggies. It smells super fresh when the can is first opened. Great product!

My dog eats it now ...

but at first she wouldn't. I've never fed her a lot of foods with liver so maybe it was different and she needed to think about it.
