Feeding Instructions

Tonga Luau is naturally formulated with added vitamins and minerals to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages. Feed your Adult Tiki Dog 1 can per 28 lbs of body weight per day. Feed up to twice the amount for puppies. Pregnant or nursing dogs may require 2 - 4 times the amount. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition to a new food is to switch gradually over the course of 7-10 days. For example, make a mixture that contains 25% of the new food and 75% of the old food and feed that for three days. Then make it 50-50 for three more days, then 75% new food and 25% old food for three more days. If your dog seems comfortable with this progression, you can start feeding 100% new food. If at any time your pet starts vomiting, has loose stools, or appears constipated, slow the rate at which you are switching the food. If problems continue to occur, consult your veterinarian.

Looks and smells better than premium canned soups for humans

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

As this Tiki dog food is pretty much the only thing on a market that features sardine without any chicken or other meat, I've been wanting to try it but kind of scared off by the mixed reviews on this particular flavor and the price. When Chewy offered 40% off, I couldn't resist but to try it out. My initial thought on opening the can - how delicious smelling it was! It didn't smell fishy at all. I've had more fishy smelling Sushi than this. It looked a lot like soups for humans but a lot more filling than broth for sure. I think it gives the impression of more liquid than actually is because it is not artificially thickened. There are good solid nice chunks of sardines. Great quality you'd expect from any other Tiki flavors, and most importantly, my dogs loved it! I could just buy canned sardines and add them to the dry, but I feel comfortable knowing it is nutritionally complete and balanced for dogs and low sodium levels. It's a win for us. … more

    Tiki Canned Dog Food

Our very sensitive Boston Terrier loves this very fresh looking canned food. You can see the actual skin and bones as well as the vegetables. It appears like a stew. Great food and quality.

    My dogs love it!

I'm so happy to find a wet dog food where you can clearly see all the ingredients, and it's not one big mush. I've only tried a few other Tiki flavors, and yes this does have quite a bit of liquid in it, but there is still plenty of good stuff inside. I use this to mix in with my dogs' food and they love it. Yes it's smelly and their breath is pretty rank afterwards, but what do you expect with Sardines?

    not what we expected

Not Your typical Tiki food this one is very watery and not chunky like the other flavors. I think half the can is liquid and a couple chunks of sardines. We prefer the other flavors.

Dogs love it. I think its gross. Unfortunately for them, I will not order it again. Tikidog has several other less-gross formulas we will purchase.

    Not a Favorite

My dogs are not impressed with this particular canned food. It is about 1/3 liquid and 2/3 sardines. They like salmon, but the sardines are not a hit.

    Pack Favorite

This dog food smells horrible and the entire downstairs smells every time I give it to them. However, the dogs just love it and can't get enough. It has nice big chunks of sardine and a broth that the dogs really seem to enjoy. I also like that they break down the ingredients by percentage. This will definitely continue to be a staple in my dogs' food rotation.
